It really depends are where you are. I only know that on the West Coast of the United States port have lottery drawings when they need more casuals.

Yes I am fortunate enough to work with my wife. We have been lashing together sense 2010.

Yes, I've used ear muff style hearing protection before. I've used the kind which would attach to my hard hat. They do work good, but in warmer weather I get too hot. Generally speaking I prefer eye plugs.
