Took this hike with ‪@kalimachios‬ who also has a video: • Lassen Peak in the Winter
The road is open to Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center which is 0.2 miles from the south entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park.
We snowshoed mostly along the highway 89 covered with 10+ feet deep snow with a few shortcuts.
On the first day, we snowshoed up to 10,000 feet. The following day, we ascended another 500 feet to reach the summit before descending. We started at 7:30 AM and returned to the car by 2 PM.

Many years ago I climbed Mt. Lassen, but it was in Summer. I recall this massive boulder field, like nothing I’d ever seen before. Truly amazing. Thanks for sharing your beautiful climb. You captured so much beauty in such a short video!

I can remember my grandfather who was living in a gold mining town in Northern California telling me stories of watching Mt Lassen's last eruption around 1914.
