Last Chance Purple Haze

Detailed instructions for tying a Last Chance Purple Haze.
Recipe:
Hook: Tactical dry-fly hook (here a Fulling Mill FM50), size 14.
Thread: Purple, 8/0 or 70-denier.
Tails: Moose body hair, cleaned and stacked.
Shuck: Golden brown Antron yarn.
Body: Purple rabbit-fur dubbing.
Wing: Natural white CDC.
Hackles: Brown and ginger grizzly.

The flies that look like they are in a little trouble trigger that predator instinct in the fish. this one will do that for sure. (Trout don't eat really pretty flies.) Rock on, my friend!

I was told purple dulls out more to match naturals under water which is why it apparently works for nymphs but no one can seem to explain why it works on dry flies.

Great video bud. I have used purple flies before as a switch up and they catch fish. Then again I’m running purple perdigons as a switch up and once coated with up resin it almost looks black

Why rabbit dubbing? Better options for a fly that’s supposed to float. Any particular reason?

Great question. Although rabbit fur isn't the floatiest dubbing, it takes both dry and wet floatants extremely well, actually kind of absorbs them. With the floatant absorbed or trapped between the fibers, the fly floats just great. In other words, if you know you're going to end up using floatant anyhow, why not use a dubbing that works well with it.

How am I supposed to know what you have and haven't created or maybe just thought of while sitting at your tying table. Am I missing something? Did you post a picture of it somewhere? Publish an article? Produce a video? Tie it professionally? What is that would let me know that you are not just another internet troll trying to make yourself look better by basically crapping on someone else's hard work. Also, I never, here or anywhere else took credit for developing this pattern because I'm guessing about a gazillion people have tied it before.
