I've been to punta del este. Loved their casinos and the steaks are huge either a porterhouse or a filet mignon are both a mountain of meat! They were all very inexpensive back in 1982!

Wonderful series. An itinerary I’ve always wanted to experience and now I almost feel that I have! Superb narration and editing brought us along each day of this varied cruise. I particularly enjoyed your penguin fascination, the bay filled with whales, and your willingness to share your personal travails and joys. And yes, it is great to stay on board when the ship is in port. In fact during the Punta Del Este call was one of the rare times I went to the pool as it finally looked like on those photos in the brochure: practically all to myself 🙂

Oh No! You stayed on the ship! I loved Punte del Este. I went for a walk along thr beachfront, found a cafe, had a pizza and a beer. Got charged $25 Australian, which I thought wasn't bad. Then I went on a local tour, about ten of us in a mini bus

Loved that you wrapped up the cruise with some info months after. It was likely done by accident but you should do that more often. Getting time away and then giving your thoughts could be a refreshing way of doing it. Just a thought.

I agree with your review of the Star! We just got back from a sailing (Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro). We loved the ship and crew. Yes, small and older, but nothing wrong with that. Staff also great, cabin fine (I recognized the creaking sound you mentioned in previous vlogs when the sea is rough) and I liked the public spaces. If I could change something, it would be the location of the coffee bar in the centre/mid atrium. A normal bar with a musician would be nicer in my opinion. Thanks for the vlogs. Curious to see your Valiant Lady vlogs, sailed on her last August😄

Totally agree about the coffee bar! On the Gem they have a great open space for live music and a circular full bar and I think that layout is the best on the smaller/midsize NCL ships. Thanks so much for watching, I’m so glad you enjoyed your cruise! 😊

No public laundry room, but they do run a laundry special (approx $30 - $35 for a bag) in your cabin at various times throughout the cruise.

@@kuttyraju2899 prices for this cruise are going to vastly differ depending on when you go - I went over the holidays which was more expensive than if you go before or after. It also depends on what cabin type you book. A balcony is going to cost quite a bit more than an inside cabin.
