The governor could have let them sneak out. Then told the crowd: Hey, he seen there was a crowd and slipped away. Headline: "Billy the Kid slips away from governor's mansion after meeting" This would both be consistent with the reality and mythos of Billy being able to slip out of trouble. He still could have processed the request for pardon at the end of his time in office. Quietly.

He wasn't really asked who the leaders of the Lincoln County War was. He did remember John Copeland was Sheriff of Lincoln after Brady, and then Peppin, then Kimbrell, and then Garrett. The Henry in New York show that 1 year old Henry's name was Patrick Henry, and he was still alive and well in New York in 1930.

I personally have skepticism towards Robert's claim of being the true identity of Billy the Kid. However, one aspect that strikes me as stange regarding Garrett's claim of killing The Kid is the absence of any death photos, a customary practice for outlaws at the time. Given The Kid's notoriety of being the most well known outlaw of the wild West, Garrett would have known the necessity of having concrete proof to successfully claim the reward. Perhaps the tense atmosphere in Fort Sumner with the community being all riled up after the shooting led Garrett and his deputies to opt for showing respect towards The Kid's corpse to try and maintain peace. Additionally, Garrett's past friendship with The Kid could have influenced the events. Despite my inclination to want to believe The Kid survived, his penchant for bravado and trouble suggests to me that if he truly had of lived then he likely wouldn't have gone on to live a quiet life without either bragging or being spotted and the word getting out, and so we would of heard more of him and his future exploits.

Regardless of whether or not it was the real Billy, the governor still should have pardoned him. Either he was making a man who wouldn't survive another decade happy, or he was granting a pardon to a man long dead. Either way it should have been done due to the promise that was made to Billy the kid years beforehand. Either way it would have been good publicity for the governor, and made him look merciful and kind. Instead he just proved to be a donkey.

I forgot to mention to you that I was testing some A.I deep learning stuff, it can basically read a 1000 page novel in half a second and offer an insane detailed analysis into, deeper meanings, hidden messages, tone, indifference all that stuff. Eyewitness accounts that came out in the paper right after Pat Garrets assassination attempt on billy confirm the man that was murdered had a beard and darker skin as Barlow was half Mexican. Billy the kid was right handed. They since have flipped the photo, as tin type cameras take a mirror image and upside down. Just like your portrait camera on your phone, is reversed. It wasnt until 2011 when the photo was sold they discovered the tin type would have been back to front.

I've always been interested in the lore around billy the kid and when I read your book and seen how detailed brushy was it convinced me that he did survive and had an amazing life. Also, if his story didn't hold water it would not be standing the test of time.

He based his claim in part to several census records that allegedly said BB was really Henry Roberts, aka Ollie Partridge William Roberts, Oliver Partridge, Oliver Roberts, etc and that he was born in August of 1879. I don’t know where he got the rest of his information from but he seems pretty adamant that BB was a liar and a con man. I think it’s highly likely that some of these researchers looked up records with the name McCarthy instead of BTK’s real name of McCardy. The other evidence he claims is the ear lobe. BB had an attached ear lobe while BTK’s earlobe was detached but read some place that the photo used to determine BTK’s earlobe was manipulated. Honestly I don’t know how reliable BTK’s photo is considering the photo is about 137 years old and highly degraded. Personally I believe BB was BTK. I base that on the photo comparison software that was used comparing facial details with a 93% probability as well as being verified by an independent study. Yet this is another claim the other researcher says is bogus. Man it gets confusing! Lol!

⁠@@aliasbillythekid I remember watching the history channels Billy the Kid episodes and they went to the Pat Garrett Museum, where Pats descendants are running it today and they said Pat was one of Billy‘s distant cousins along with Kinny or McKinney who is there that night when Billy was supposedly shot and they said many of the people in that area at that time were cousins many people in the Santa Fe ring were cousins to Garrett and Billy and a lot of intermarriage, which I found interesting so I was watching at wild W. Extravaganza and I mentioned this he was very rude and he wrote two paragraphs tearing me down and called me an idiot, then asked where I heard that from because he had never heard that I replied it was on the history. Channel came out of the mouth of Pat Garrett‘s descendants who run the Pat Garrett Museum. He proceeded to call me a liar how rude even for know it all like him ! do I think Billy died? I don’t think so. Do I think he lived quite possibly do I believe brushy Bill Roberts was Billy the Kid I’m not so sure. Is it possible, that Brushy Bill met the real Billy the Kid later in life and who relayed to him in very explicit details things about his life. Things Only Billy would know and brushy Bill figuring he was old would try to get the pardon, after the real Billy’s death maybe he figured he’s old enough. He’s facing death anyway he would try to get his friend Billy the pardon? just saying so please don’t do like wild West extravaganza call me an idiot for my theory or my idea I’m just putting it out there. Good work on your videos by the way, you have your opinion, but you still leave it up to the viewer unlike wild West extravaganza who if you don’t believe what he says, he calls you names and gets hostile.
