On the last day that we moved out of the house that we raised our kids in, I went in every room and just touched the wall and asked God to bless the next family. We lived there for 26 years so it was emotional but it was time to move on. My husband was packing our vehicle outside and he didn’t know that I had done that until he saw my tears when I got in the car. He smiled and said he had walked around the house and prayed too but didn’t want me to see his tears❤. We both laughed/cried and said goodbye to that sweet house. I can’t wait to see your new house decorated and I know it will be lovely. 👏

When we left our first house I was so emotional. We had elderly neighbours who were like grandparents to our three boys so it was difficult to say goodbye. We built our present house only a few miles north of the old one. We left the house spotless, move in ready and walked through each room touching the stencilled cars on the walls and remembering where the crib sat as we brought each son home from the hospital. God bless as you move forward but never forget where you started out❤

In the home I lived in for almost 50 years we had a fireplace in the lower level of the bi-level. Our mantle was a railroad tie. It looked very much like your mantles.

A wreath on the chimney would look great! (And I'm not just saying that because I make wreaths. My shop is pretty bare at the moment.) When I was a kid, people decorated interior spaces with wreaths, not just their front door. I love a good wreath above a mantel or against stone.

Your new home is lovely, best of luck and God bless your new home! I sobbed when we sold and left our 1896 Victorian. We completely rebuilt my childhood home after my Mom passed away. My Dad built the original home in 1951. I love our home but will always love our 1896 beauty!! Like you, we only lived in our 1st home for 4.5 years. We lived in our 1896 home for 19 years. It all looks so beautiful Amy!!! I love the paint colors you chose and how fun the mixing of finishes looks. That fireplace is amazing!! I am getting ready to clear a lot of my decorations and knickknacks out and go very minimal with a few accents here and there. My storage space is very limited and I am very allergic to dust so I am hoping it will cut down on dust and the time I spend cleaning. I appreciate all your tips and addressing that in your videos. I live in Western Mass. and we live abutting conservation land and a water mass so we have lots of bugs as well. We built our house in 1999 but didn’t put a screen porch on until about 7 or so years later. BEST THING WE EVER DID!!!! We use it all the time for parties (don’t need to worry about rain or bugs) and just a place to eat. Great idea to screen it in.

Congratulations on your new home and this next chapter for your family. In 26 years of marriage we have moved 11 times with 2 of those overseas. Many have brought tears as we have said goodbye to homes that held so many family memories but I always embrace the new adventures ahead. It sounds crazy but I do enjoy the opportunity it gives me to weed out what we really no longer need. It also keeps me from collecting more "stuff" that I may have to part with down the line.

We just moved in a month ago into our home. Very old home. Needs lots of help. 😂 When we packed up our oldest house we were so busy. No time to be sentimental. But as soon as it was empty. It was hard to realize it was the end. But now we make new memories. For a fixer upper like mine our memories now are mainly headaches 😂.

Your house is stunning and as I've said before, your builder is very skilled and has done a great job for you. I would have done a few things differently, but that is certainly not a criticism of what you have done. Different people, different ideas. I would have had matching metals throughout, because I am a matchy-matchy person. In the office I would have had to be facing the window to look out, not have my back to it. And I would have trouble with the shade of pink in your daughter's room, but am sure that she loves it and it can easily be changed if she leans towards a more muted colour in the future. Glad to know that there will be a fourth bedroom, in case the boys, as teenagers, want their own space. May you enjoy good health and happiness in this new house. Please make sure the owners of your former home, know about your KZbin channel, so that they can see how that house evolved. Finally, where's the cow wallpaper???

I agree with the few things you would have done differently, but I also agree that Amy has to do what suits her. All in all, this is a dream house and won't it be fun to watch talented Amy decorate it
