My last day of active duty was 3 days ago, and now McKenna is starting her time on active duty! It’s so cool seeing her excitement because that’s exactly how I felt 4 years ago. McKenna is going to do great!

i still remember USAF bootcamp like it was yesterday. It was easy for me because i was in a military marching band in high school, i was playing 4 sports also and my parents were very strict with my dad in my face at times....so it was smooth ride for me. they will just play mind games with you.

There is NO joy and excitement during BMT, if that's present, BMT fails you. Its critical to always be on edge, because that is the basis of the responsibility required in the operational Air Force.

We use google photos so as soon as we take pictures or videos it goes to the cloud for google photos. I download them and edit them on the computer. Makenna won't be editing videos until after tech school. She will shoot them, upload them to the cloud and I'll download them, edit, and upload them. Teamwork :)

How long did it take for you to get a job slot after you first swore in?

I believe it was 4 months or going on 5 months. But she also had done extra interviews to qualify for the job she got. If she didn't do those interviews she wouldn't have gotten a job yet most likely or would have just gotten one but would ship out for another 2 or 3 months.
