The Brits seem to find the perfect actors. I cannot imagine such a series being made in America about older people.
@garygalt41463 жыл бұрын
Nearly all started on the stage in 50s moved to tv 60 and 70s or studied under old stage actors. We must keep theatres open if today’s youth. Want quality in the future. But alas I don’t see enough of today’s youth. Interested in learning a craft or having any attention span. 5 mins and move onto something else. If it’s not flashing on a phone. They get bored.

@@garygalt4146 I’m not trying to sound nasty but you have zero clue what your on about why paint a whole group of people with one brush. I agree with you on the whole but I’m 17 myself and I work as a welder in a working yard I work 11 hr days near enough non stop and I know many people my age who are they same. Yes we are a minority but we are still knocking about. But I do have to agree my generation are mostly idiot individuals who don’t know the meaning of hard work and get offended over the slightest things that have nothing to do with them.

Why dont the women ever comment on the fact that their husbands were the ones who provided them with houses and money. They all live in nice properties.
@garygalt41463 жыл бұрын
Because growing up after the war life was extremely hard for the women/wives keeping the home. No washing machines so hand washing all your clothes. Using a mangle (see episode on moving the mangle) beating the rugs to remove dust and dirt. Boiling buckets of water and bringing in the tin bath once a week so that all the family had one bath a week. If your husband was a miner you would have to bath him every night. When he got home from work. The wife had to scrub his back clean. So a house was a partnership equal hard work. They didn’t drive the kids to school in a 4x4 then off to the Gym in full make up and designer clothes, lunch with the girls the feet up watching daytime tv.

@@garygalt4146 well said. Along with the fact that men were the boss. I live in rural Mexico & it's still like that: Men are the protectors & boss, women serve & obey. Works well most of the time, but there are some terrible, terrible exceptions.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
