WNED (a PBS station in Buffalo, NY and Toronto for you Canadians) used to show this wonderful Britcom, and I began watching this in early 2018 to honor the late Peter Sallis, who plays Norman Clegg in this series. I knew Mr. Sallis well as the voice of Wallace in Aardman's Wallace & Gromit films. Upon learning about the death of Mr. Sallis in 2017, I had paid tribute to him by watching the Wallace & Gromit films...and of course, watching this show until the bitter day in June 2021 when WNED announced that the show would leave the station...

I think it's to feature the countryside and the scenery...the old buildings and the lanes... But alot of it is framing off center from how it's been filmed, so as to avoid recognition by the algorithm, so they won't delete it due to copyright claims.

The 1988 TV series The first of the summer wine the prequel to this series was really good. It was set in 1939 when the men were teenagers.

Sadly, in hindsight, it seems like Billy Hardcastle (Keith Clifford) leaving--after Season 27--was the real beginning of the end. It would be Smiler, after Season 28 & then Nora herself after Season 29. Plus, Clegg & Truly were no longer members of the main trio, after Season 29, either...

No, in North Yorkshire the village of Holmfirth for exteriors. We've been watching for decades and don't mind watching again and again. Find it very funny also.. nostalgic (I'm in my 80s) and occasionally theres a comment that catches you in the solarplexus it's such a true comment on how life has changed and being PC.
