I'm surprised you didn't talk about the revolver/crossbow combo. Hitting someone once with the crossbow and once with the revolver will bring them down to a sliver of health, to which the bleeding effect will down them almost instantly. Not only is this an incredibly powerful and effective strategy but you also net a +40 Down From Bleed Out bonus if you're quick.

You forgot the broken load-out :Crossbow, damage marker 2 and hawk eye 2 this setup is OP forget about using the crossbow as support you will be using it as your primary gun forever !!!

He keeps on comparing this to be the bow, however the two arent as closely related as you might think. While the crossbow has the word "bow" in it, doesnt make it a sub class of the bow. It does the same damage as the bow and the hunting with a bleeding effect stacked on so its very effective to use in a mindset of a purchaseable hunting rifle. Why the hunting rifle? It fires slow and has little to no travel time, alot like a hunting rifle, while the bow fires at moderate speeds and with a travel time and arc. With this weapons cheap ammo, stacked on with the cheaper ammo booster, you can treat it as a another long firearm to use it where your normal firearm may not be efficient. Because of this, I recomend using the burst rifle or pistol as your go to weapon and the crossbow for mid to long range fights. Also if you are doing the crossbow and semi auto combo, I recommend just using the revolver to do that combo. With thos extra load out points you can get a weapon that isnt just there for that combo, like the burst.

I would think this would work well with smoke bombs to interrupt the enemy when they are trying to heal. Using the highlight to see when they are bandaging and then stunning them with the smoke to stop them healing and possibly getting the kill from the bleed out. Also, does bandaging a team mate stop them from bleeding?

In survivors if your team is destroying the other and you win you get extra parts like one time i was playing on a dominating team and i ended with 2500 parts ish but when we we killed the final guy i jumped up to 4000 parts

also, do you think that factions in TLOU is a bit flawed? there's a number of reasons to suggest this such as: 1. you almost need to dominate your team, as well as the opposition, to collect 100+ parts each match in the latter weeks, meaning having a good team actually makes you suffer with less parts at the end for example, one game I earned 7000 parts, yet my teammates only managed 2000, which basically explains my point 2. in game modes such as survivors, you can lose the match yet earn more parts than the winners, for example if you're last man standing each round you earn a whole lot of parts, which still contribute to your overall score 3. following on from the previous point, you could have a flawless game yet not earn enough parts for your clan (bonus points for this maybe?) saying this I really enjoy factions, and the high demand for parts in the later weeks does motivate me to play better Thanks

Yup. I've had games were I was the highest grossing player on both teams and still came out at a loss because I couldn't craft anything because I was doing too good to get crafting parts, couldn't heal enough people because the enemy weren't hurting us enough, and my allies were supporting one another and myself so effectively that no one needed to revive one another. It's ridiculous that you can play too good in the last of us and come out at a loss because of it. As well your allies leaving (due to this system) when you're ahead like 14-9 is the quickest way to fuck three people since the dildotron-6900 as now the enemy is swimming in pity parts and you're down a guy without the ability to replace him as the half way point has passed, effectively destroying any chance at victory as you're outnumbered and unfairly under-armed. These issues need to be resolved.

Back in the PS3 days where I used to care about my population and all that jazz, when I hit 80 survivors, I would stop playing Supply Raid and move to Survivors and run Crafter 3, and I would get a shit ton of parts. I recomend that you don't care for your population until the "100% Popualtion Dead" missions.

I usually rocked Enforcer, Crossbow, Covert 2, agility, sharp ears and gunslinger. Or added collector to that mix here and there. If you're good at stealth you can pick off people pretty well with that loadout.

The thing to do is when you get snagged by a bolt if you can’t craft a medkit or if you can’t find a medkit or just don’t have a medkit immediately rush the enemy in a suicide charge

Opinions of the loadout i use with the crossbow? Silenced 9mm (I play stealth and i used the 9mm instead of the enforcer like i normally do to save points) No large firearm Brawler 1 (This is a skill i use in every loadout no matter what since it basically guarantees victory in melee combat) First aid training 2 (gets me allot of parts so you can purchase the crossbow. Also allows me to heal myself quickly if anyone shoots me with their crossbow) Sharp ears 2 (Adds to the stealth and is actually quite useful since it can get annoying when you're just sitting there waiting for your listen meter to regenerate just so you can listen to where the enemies are for 2 seconds) Reviver 1 (Helps me revive people faster which then allows me to heal them after i revive them and get me more parts) Crossbow (obviously) Thoughts? :)

Tip: shoot a guy with a crossbow, then a revolver (or vice versa). The guy will bleed out near-immediately, rewarding the extra parts for bleed out downs.

TranscendedArrow yeah, specifically with the crossbow and revolver. To my knowledge it doesn't work well with the 9mm--two shots from that+crossbow downs someone (so you don't get the extra parts) while one shot from each gives the other guy a pretty significant window to heal/run/kill you/die from other means. The enforcer would be marginally slower acting than the revolver (unless your first shot misses, I guess).

I think the game makes an attempt to pair you with similarly leveled players, but clearly it has trouble doing so seeing as you're often paired with high level players. Outside of that I'm not really sure. The matchmaking definitely has some issues.

kriz0826 It matchmaking is based on skill. Someone can be level 900 and have the skill level of someone who is level 50. Don't forget that some people are resets, meaning they are low leveled but they have played the game before and know how to play.

Ikr! I get put on a team with 3 level 5's who do nothing but die, while the enemy team has 4 level 200+s that all have semi autos and shotguns. They need to atleast make it so that you can only use a certain gun if you're playing against noobs, Like you can't use the semi auto, brawler 2 or the shotgun on scrubs. Like your forced to use 9mm only or the bow or some shit. Btw nice avatar. I love trevor!

Balance is fucking atrocious. I have been put on teams were I get 16 downs and 14 kills and still lose because all my allies got like 1/1/8. If they had literally half a brain to split amongst the three of them we should've cleaned shop but they don't even know how to goddamn revive their comrades, and taking cover is like thermonuclear physics to them. Everyone has to start somewhere, fine, I was in that noob boat too once, but they shouldn't be playing against a team of four people who can snipe them from across the map without even breaking their stride. It's pitiful, one of the worst i've seen as I'm astounded it hasn't been addressed yet.

Bleed out? Seriously? TLOU MP now has sunk to awful depths with its pay to win weapons and perks. Back when I did it on PS3 it was perfectly balanced. I'm now not looking forward to doing the journeys on PS4 as I refuse to pay for DLC that should be in the game for everyone. Poor show Naughty Dog, shame on you.

I'd have to say I disagree. I was a bit surprised and disappointed the execution animations costed money (though I suppose that's no different than paying for new character skins and such), but I'm perfectly ok spending a few bucks to get a handful of new weapons. $4 for 4 weapons that breathe a lot of new life into the multiplayer? Small price to pay in my opinion, and I don't think most, if any of these weapons are "pay to win". While a lot of these weapons and perks are helpful, it's still so easy to do well in the game by just using the semi auto, hunting rifle, or revolver. None of these DLC guns feel like they would immediately make those weapons useless. So you can view it as "Shame on you Naughty Dog for making more money off the game.", but if they hadn't, you (or others) might be saying "Shame on you Naughty Dog for abandoning the multiplayer community and refusing to release more online content.". Hell, ND recently confirmed they would release no more DLC for TLOU and they got some backlash, and this is after lie 6 DLC drops, easily the best supported multiplayer PlayStation exclusive ever in my opinion.

Oi have to say if anything balance has improved. Over time I've seen a much more even weapons distribution. Sure Military Snipers, double barrel, and Machetes and whatnot still are uncommon it's much better than the days of 3 semi autos and 1 hunting rifle on every team and nothing else. The new perks allow interesting combos with some of the weapons and make the less used ones more appealing as they compliment new skills better (scavenger with full auto or gunslinger with 9mm). While I DO think the crossbow is unbalanced I think overall balance has improved with time as different gameplay styles are made more viable.

Noah Lach Yeah both of those weapons are frustrating to get killed by because you know they don't take too much skill to down people with but honestly, success in Factions is so much about playing smart. Obviously you gotta be accurate but so much of it comes down decision making and how quickly you make those decisions. One thing I see so often is people crouch walking the map more than likely with covert training 2/3 on. Playing like that is like riding a bike with training wheels. If you continue playing like that you'll never get better because it forces you into a slower playstyle which ultimately slows your reactions to everything and you feel as though you have more time to make decisions, so when you get forced into tough situations you can't react fast enough. I know this because I used to roll with covert training 3 all the bloody time. As soon as I took that off and learnt to play fast I went from numbers like 8 downs 8 executions etc (average stuff) to double digits pretty much every time and monster games. You'll never get that by crouch walking around. I am probably underselling the ability to use items and weapons with precision but I do believe it's a lot about smarts.
