You forgot to mention that this is already the second release with new swords. The swords of the first release (the one I have) came with all-plastic sculpted handles and thick, cheap-looking die cast metal blades. I reckon that the Nine X Virus Algren created enough peer pressure for Pop Toys that they actually improved Katsumoto's swords with real tsuka-ito (cord wrap) and better quality metal, and also improved Algren's swords for the second release. Pop Toys also sent the new swords for free to those who bought the first release. I'll be receiving mine from my seller next month. Cheers!

I had the Pangaea then I bought this one and there’s a huge difference. So I sold the Pangaea one. Now I have on pre-order the Nine X Virus which looks even more impressive but also more expensive. We’ll see which one I will keep after it is released. Great review for a “Hot Toys quality“ figure.

I remember seeing this figure on ebay at one point and was wondering. Thanks for taking the plunge and doing a review. I used to have an unpainted head sculpt that I'd been working on painting a few years ago. (I don't know what I would have done with it when finished) That is some bad hair, definitely needs that helmet. Looks like an amazing figure.

For rooted hair, that looks pretty decent. I'm incredibly impressed with all the authentic wood, metal, and fabric accessories... sculpted flags, costume (robes, capes, armor and other removable parts, etc), and hair always sucks.

Oh. Em. Gee!! ....The want is strong with that one. It’s gorgeous! Truly exquisite. Tom Cruise can be hit & miss at times, but he puts in a a solid performance in this film (even if the movie itself is just rehashing the Dances With Wolves). I’d hope to eventually see Ken Watanabe too, but I’d display with helmet & mask. You did good with the hair. But until seeing this, I didn’t know this is a figure that I truly wanted; who cares who the figure is actually actually of? It’s a stunning piece of art more impressive than the movie that inspired it.

There was an inexpensive Samanosuke figure from Dragon some years ago. I bought one and ported everything over to a soldier story body and then bought a Takeshi Kaneshiro head on ebay.

Wow, it's even more lifelike that Tom Cruise!! But then, so is a 1970's Malibu Ken doll, so that's no great acheivment. This IS a stunningly executed figure though. The sculpting and painting is fantastic.

Hey, love the video and the figure, the details are crazy... if I can give you a tip, the wakizashi (the smaller katana) should face up, the sharp side of the blade should face up, the same with the katana but having it sideways can happen if he’s about to draw

Now that Justin is one awesome figure. Admitedly I wasn't a fan of Tom Cruise until I saw him portray Lestat in INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE. That changed my whole prospective of Mr Cruise.
