Instead of having it eliminate players, you could instead have a point system where finishing each round in 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc earns X points and then you just tally it up at the end to see who overall performed the best. I think that might be more fun because then everyone gets to keep playing. But this was great!

The idea is great, only elimination is a bad idea. Give people points depending how they rank, give people more points for later stages, e.g. like this: Last place gets zero points always. Second-to-last place gets as many points as the round it is, (1st round = 1 pt, 2nd round 2 pt, etc.) and every higher place double, triple, four times, five times, etc., of the second-to-last place.

1st round: 1st place: 7 2nd place: 6 3rd place: 5 4th place: 4 5th place: 3 6th place: 2 7th place: 1 8th place: 0 2nd round: 1st place: 14 2nd place: 12 3rd place: 10 4th place: 8 5th place: 6 6th place: 4 7th place: 2 8th place: 0 3rd round: 1st place: 21 2nd place: 18 3rd place: 15 4th place: 12 5th place: 9 6th place: 6 7th place: 3 8th place: 0 4th round: 1st place: 28 2nd place: 24 3rd place: 20 4th place: 16 5th place: 12 6th place: 8 7th place: 4 8th place: 0 And so on. You get the idea. It means that unless you did really bad in the beginning throughout, you have a good chance for a comeback as later rounds are more valuable and, ideally, also harder.

This was so much fun watching on people's streams, but this video was also edited incredibly well. One modification idea to make the format a little better IMO - have all 9 players participate over (x) amount of rounds. Each round you get inverse amount of points for whatever place you come in (9 points for finding Simply first, 8 points for second, etc). Then after the preset amount of rounds with the point totals calculated, the top two qualify for a showdown match for the prize. This way, everyone gets to participate and compete for most of the contest + the two best get to have a showdown for the dramatic ending. Either way, really hope you run this back sometime! One of the best Mario content pieces I've seen in quite a while.👍

Some things to do at next time: a round that gives a bonus in the next round to the first ones or who reach in a certain amount of time, a round that bring back someone to the competition again, a bonus round to rise the prize.
