"God created us in such a way that I cannot be a human on my own. I wouldn't know how to walk, how to think, how to speak, how to be a human being except through learning from other human beings. So our humanity is bound with one another's. If you carry out a policy that dehumanizes others, in the process you are dehumanized. In order for me to be me, I want to forgive you" Mind-blown. This shows once again what a remarkable and flexible intellect Craig Ferguson actually has. Playing the fool for cheap laughs to appeal to the "average person" one minute, and conducting a very respectful, informed and insightful interview of one of the most remarkable human beings in the previous half century - in a way that the same "average person" can still follow - moments later. Exceptional.

silly human The interview got to a rough start with the pacing, but Craig figured it out. The morale of Tutu’s messages are baked within the stories. Patience is needed to listen to the story, or else the morale will never come to light for this type of person. I think he hides these morales in story to diminish importance. The lesson is less important than the human, who requires patience, humility, empathy, those sorts of virtues, to learn the lesson in the first place.

Rest in peace to truly beautiful man. I remember watching this interview and it being my first exposure to Desmond Tutu. He was incredible. His philosophy, outlook and humour is something we can all follow. I'm not religious but God bless this truly amazing man.

Doesn't matter how many times I watch this and think back to what I would read about what going on there, and what they were going through, I'm am just astounded at what this man and mr. Mandela were able to accomplish. Truly one of the greatest humans to ever walk this earth!

I want Craig to interview all the world leaders this way. He is a perfect successor for Larry King IMO. It's a high hope but it will be hilarious and important at the same time.

this is very impactful. i can be a resentful and insecure person when i'm at at my worst. the power of forgiveness is something i often forget. i could have watched at least a couple hours of this, this was so great.

How could anybody watch this and be racist afterwards, how could you see that man as anything else but a perfectly equal human being. I just don't understand racism.

What a fantastic human being, and a great guest. The Archbishop has such a wonderful sense of humor. Craig said in a speech that Archbishop Desmond Tutu was the guest that made the biggest impact on his show. He also stated he believes the show got better after his appearance. I am so happy you've shared this wonderful episode.
