Vermont has a conservative plan, sunrise till noon for the month of May. I haven't seen or heard a bird in 10 days, been gently hunting a woodlot I KNOW is holding at least 3 old rope draggers. Going to try more soft calling later in the week.

What works for me late seasons are soft purrs, and a putt or 2. I dont yelp anymore. They are typically very quiet vocally, and you need to listen for footsteps or or spitting. My experiences anyway. Good luck!

12+ birds on the property I hunted today, had 2 hens come right up to my decoy and make friends with her. Had 1 Jake come in but I let him live.
