Josh playing it like the original Police track. The rest playing it like Sting's solo version. Both are great. But, Josh is just tearing it up!

Best part of it, I bet Sting secretly didn't like that haha... But you can't argue with what sounds good.

Well said. I didn't know until recently that Josh was a student of Vinnie Colaiuta when Josh was like seven years old. He's amazing.

Suicidal Tendencies, Paul Westerberg, Devo- Josh Freese can play with anybody. He's right up there with Chuck Biscuits Montgomery.

Does anybody know what Sting did on Letterman on March 4, 2004? Found a listing that he was (probably) on but I can't find out if he did an interview or performed a song and if so, what?
@CusterFlux14 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Stewart always pushed a bit too much though, I hear it drove Sting crazy - it drives me crazy sometimes. Vinnie tends to put different stuff in different places, his Ride can be beautifully relaxed and behind, while other things push, but rubato doesn't happen: where as this guy's a monster, but yeah, I know what you mean.

I don't know about that slide, remove that and it's a rocker. Still is, regardless, but never liked that guitarist in Sting's solo work. The guy on the right is great tho.
@popvinnik5 жыл бұрын
Hmmm...not impressed with the guitar playing. The slide work made me cringe at times. Was he napping during that solo? Oh, and interesting Sting chose to wear yellow and black for a performance of a Police song. :)
