I fish smallmouth in a public river that spans the entire province up here in Canada. Went an entire weekend two weeks ago without a single nibble. Probably 10 hours or more total, three different spots. Then this past weekend I caught as many fish as I did all summer long on texas rigged yum dingers and Matzuo rattling jigheaded yum tubes. Totally felt vindicated. Been three weekends since I started using a baitcaster too, followed your videos for advice, then honed it in with practice. Now I'm able to cast as far as I could with a spinning setup, and I can whip it out there like KVD. If you ever get a chance to put up a lews hypermag, I highly recommend it. Weighs nothing, and casts a mile.

Yeah, I've been taking a fishing break lately. Just too warm, and with the recent flooding, a lot of the lakes are either trashed with debris, or over fished by the people that normally fished at the lakes that flooded. That and with the heat, it's just not been the best. Weather is looking to start cooling off now, so I'm hopeful the bite comes back here in the next month or so.

Was thinking about buying some different crank baits and top water baits, but not getting any bites on any of them that I have so far makes me not want to spend the money. Not sure it's just time of day, where I'm fishing, how I'm fishing them, or the baits. Fishing Holman Lake at Little Buffalo State Park in PA (no boat so bank fishing). They seem to like slow presentations in my limited experience.
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
@@blagdaross5953 with the water cooling down I like a lipless crankbait a lot. The spinnerbait also does well when the fish are chasing bait.
@LeatherNeck18335 жыл бұрын
The only pattern that I've been able to put together recently is flipping shaded cover, dead-falls, and lay-downs with T-rigs. Missile Baits D-Bomb and weightless Yum Dingers have been the trick for me. Actually caught 5 off of one overhanging branch last week in about 6 ft. of water right off the bank. No other overhangs held any bass willing to eat. The topwater bite in the morning has been nill, crank baits are useless in the grassy ponds, and I'm sick of loosing swim jigs and Chatter Baits to shallow stumps and submerged Christmas trees. That's Summertime fishing though. I'm ready for Fall!

Hi debo I was wondering why you have the slx reel and the rod to match but you dont use them together?
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
Because the SLX is awesome at throwing light lures. I've got it on a medium power rod for smaller cranks, jerkbaits, or a wacky rig if needed. The SLX rod is a 7'2" heavy for froggin. I throw the revo x on there.
