You taught me something. I had an experience at a Mississippi Rest Stop over Thanksgiving holiday. I was waiting for my husband on a bench and this little bee decided to land on my knee. A few years ago I would've swatted her away, but after watching you and Dirt Rooster, Jeff and Yappy work with bees, I decided to let her be. She hung out on my knee long enough to clean herself, rest and walk around on my knee for a while and then she flew off. Best, most enlightening experience of my life! Thanks JP and Fellas for the lesson.

Hi again JP! Could you explain in more detail how the bees cocoons cause the comb to become shallow? I'm not understanding the correlation between the cocoons for metamorphosis cause the comb thinning. Thank you! 🐝
@JPthebeeman7 жыл бұрын
Pamela Schramke bees can’t completely remove cocoons from brood cells. Over time the cells develop a surplus of cocoons. This continuous build up renders brood cells thicker & in time more shallow.

Welcome back...missed your videos. Always entertaining and informative. I would be remiss though if I didn't comment on the guy shooting the swarm off the tree. This is one of the stupidest things I think I have seen someone do. Does he not realize that the bullet he shot travels on, and could possibly hit someone far from the swarm site and could be hurt. Again, just a little rant... Enjoyed the rest of the video though, and have learned alot from your videos. Between you, Dirtrooster and Mr Ed, I have learned so much about bees and the care of bees. Thank you.

Hello JP. Yesterday I found a bee inside my home. It was the second bee in a week. And it's winter now. It's freezing at night and just above freezing during the day. So they must be in the wall. Now, I have checked my walls but can't see other bees. How do I know where they might be? Btw. you can't come and look for I live in Europe.

In one of my questions before you stated that the bees become loyal to their queen. In this video being that it's a small colony and you are going to introduce more bees to it how does that happen if they are loyal to another queen? Won't they find their way back to their queen or fight with the new colony?
@JPthebeeman5 жыл бұрын
Saucy The Traveling Towboat Chef it’s a numbers game. If a queenright colony needs more bees they generally yield. If they are queenless they want a queen.

@JPthebeeman7 жыл бұрын
John Dickenson so not 100% certain anyone sprayed them but the consensus was that they were not sprayed. Bees that get inside of a building go to a light source such as a window & it’s common to find them piled up on the window sill. They get very stressed when they get inside of a building & usually die within 24 hours.
