The party in power usually gets blamed for current events and Dems are in for a historic drubbing in the next election unless something drastic happens. The 100 million was referencing the independents who lean Republican but did not vote+ actual tallied votes of the 2020 cycle if the numbers weren't clear. I ask myself this on a daily basis. At the age of 24, I pawned a tablet for a friend of mine at the time who said he needed the money and couldn't find his ID. So I pawned his tablet for him. 3 days later the police arrest me because the tablet was stolen from where my friend worked. I had absolutely no criminal history whatsoever, not even a parking ticket; yet I was charged with 2 counts of felony burglary, 1 count felony embezzlement, 1 count felony possession of stolen property, and 1 count felony selling stolen property. I was charged with 5 felonies and was facing the possibility of 18 years in prison for one act. A non violent act. I was facing 18 years in prison for pawning a tablet that was around $600 at the time. So that meant, according to the DA, that my life wasn't even worth $600. No criminal history, a college degree, and a full time career and I was facing 18 years in prison for the equivalent of $600. 🤷🏽♂️ Trump extorted another nation, has defrauded the IRS, incited an insurrection, tried to coerce the top elections official in GA, and tried to steal the United States Government and he and his staff are as free as birds. Our system sucks.

It's because the U.S. oligarchy holds qualified immunity. In Trump's case it's also an imbaressment to the two party system. If he's prosecuted to the full extent of the rule of law it poses the question; how can Americans trust their government and politicians in general no matter which of the two party's they belong to. If prosecuted Congress will also have to amend the constitution with a fail safe amendment that will in their minds restrict politicians power, which leads to restrictions on all three branches of the federal government, and likely eek down to the states as well in how elections are run. Then the questions will arise on gerrymandering, and the value of the Electrol College vs the popular vote. This opens a giant can of worms that will stress political comfort zones. Good for we the people, bad for corrupted American politics.

@@SSJ2Phenom Like you, I do not understand how Trump and his minions have not been charged and jailed for their actions. Why is the DOJ stalling. I fear that if there is the tiniest loophole his attorneys will use it to set him free. But, this Jan 6 debacle and the committee “looking into the guilty parties” do something. I just saw that an admitted perpetrator part of Jan. 6 mess was set free exonerated by a Judge, the Judge was probably appointed by Trump. He did appoint more than 200 Federal Judges.

Exactly. In a way, I understand their wanting to belong, to be a part of something, and there's usually no harm in joining a group of like-minded people. But their group also throws logic and reason, rationality and facts, out the window, all because of the cult of personality. At first, they were following the leader, but now the beliefs they claim to have have them roped in so deep that their entire outlook on reality has changed.
