I was SHOOK. Like, really? I know that Seth, more so than other late night hosts, features guests that don't usually get booked on other shows (drag performers come to mind). But to book someone based off their KZbin channel? Times have changed. It just shows the power of KZbin (Mark Rober has appeared on Kimmel a few times, and Lilly Singh had a short-lived show right after this one) and how the entertainment landscape has shifted. Years ago, a project like this would be promoted on something like BBC America, as there would be another way for viewers in the US to (legally) watch. Now, this show uploads on KZbin the day after it airs. I also like how no one mentioned the failed US network version of the show, LOL...

I've watched every season to date as they hit KZbin for the US audience and enjoy it not only as a comedy but also as a peak into the human mind. Contestants will usually approach the same task in radically different ways. Some are very literal thinkers and plow straight in, some try to find a way around the rules to accomplish the task in a way that fits the goal but isn't what was really meant. Some notice clues, others don't. Some are exceptionally creative, even if they aren't the best at the task. It just works so well, one of my favorite television shows of all time.

The trick is to hire people who are professionally funny. US reality shows and game shows are always hiring regular people, or D-list celebrities, or random musicians. The UK is just like, "Wait a minute. What if we got a whole show full of people who are funny and interesting *on purpose* ?"

Yeah, the US version of TM failed so maybe they're trying to push the UK version. Americans that don't know it have a lot of fun ahead of them. The New Zealand version is also excellent from season 2 onwards. The first is worth watching but the second is some of the funniest TV ever.

To this day I have to make sure I go to the loo before I can watch that clip.

I would like to point out that the reason Taskmaster is so internationally popular*, is that the show made the decisions to upload every episode in full on thier KZbin channel. I can't believe how so many good shows are hidden behind paywalls and in addition exclude the rest of the world, people dont want subscription services they want to be able to watch what is out there. *it also helps a lot that it is a genuinely good and funny show.

@@FloraWest I personally wasn't really a fan of series ten.
