I agree wholeheartedly about the leaf blower. Dreadful noise particularly compared to the lovely swishing sound of broom or rake on crispy autumn leaves. 🍂

Apparently catastrophic for insect populations, too. And incredibly noisy. It's like a sociopath, with a vacuum cleaner fixation, in a temple. Some people, I have noticed, actively seek out quieter places in order to make noise. It's like their life's mission or something. And it's usually men, unfortunately, which makes me think they're missing the battlefield.

The screaming string, the wait for the inevitable double tap to get more string. You can not, not hear it, like an F1 car on a straight for 3 seconds. At my old house, there was a neighbour who had a team of about 9 idiots who would come to his place at least once a week to do yardwork from spring until the start of winter. This was on a street where no one else had hired landscape maintenance. The noise they would make with their leaf blowers once the leaves began to fall! And pushing the leaves around in circles on windy days, so they would just blow into some else's yard. Used to drive me bonkers.
