she actually attended an international school for 5 years when she was a kid, so she has that international school accent which is kind of american but not completely. (i can tell because i attended one myself.) any international school kid will recognize this accent.

It's wild to see Anna become even more successful. Was a fan of OG Faky and really loved quite a few of their songs. They also often collaborated with another great J-Pop group called FEMM and it was a great time to be a fan of both groups. Memories lol.

She seems so well rounded and balanced in pretty much every way. Her accent is very international but with an American leaning and yet she could go back to New Zealand and he accent wouldn’t draw that much attention (the rest of her would). She seems so focused, driven and analytical in the way she speaks more specifically than many, clarifying small points and responding to minor things that Seth said (like “did they want you to seem younger”). The Japanese she speaks in Shogun is an old style Japanese that required a lot of study and effort to get right from what I understand. It’s great that she has been nominated because her role required a lot of stillness and subtlety which is not typically what gets award nominations. I expect she is going to have a very succseful career and wont be hampered in Hollywood by being asian. Especially in current times when asian roles have increased so much but also because she has a look and beauty that can transcend that barrier. Good luck to her!

I really like the production. I remember the OG version when I was a student at the Naval Academy but as a plebe we couldn't watch TV. So never got around to watching it. For this one, I watched all the behind the scenes stuff interviewing the actors, describing the detail that went into the costume designs, and Japanese customs of that time. I've had a thing for the Samurai armor. I find that era fascinating.
