I was diagnosed with thrombocytopenia in 2013 during blood test in blood transfusion center Rawalpindi. Then I was diagnosed with fatty liver grade 3, gall stone and blood pressure in 2019. I reduced my weight from 91kg to 78kg in four months in 2020. Blood pressure become normal or even low. Then protien trace were seen in urine in 2020 in Razi lab. But urine RE was normal in IDC lab. Then protien was diagnosed in urine with one plus sign in 2022. 24 hours urine protein was double of normal range. I started xavor DIU in December 2022 when nephrologist prescribed it to me due to raised blood pressure and proteinurea. Then he added norvasic in evening. I am still using xavior diu in morning and norvasic in evening. I also started tomsulosine for enlarge prostate this year when nephrologist prescribed me. Proteinurea and creatinine was reduced in previous test but creatinine is increased near to normal range in last test. I want to ask why doctor prescribed medicines and not diagnosed the reason of proteinurea?

Sir, My queries: 1) whether these medicines can be taken by PKD 1 patients also (although with doctors advice). 2) whether research are in progress for any other medicines (other than Tolvaptan) for PKD. How long it take for approval of new medicines for PKD by FDA. 3) Whether Tolvaptan is safe and in which situations, it should be taken (although with doctors advice) 4) whether gene therapy for PKD 1 disease is in progress. Sir all these kidney protective drugs can be use in ADPKD early on. But the best management of ADPKD is stil blood pressure control. Tolvaptan is the only approved treatment so far. There may be some genetic treatments being investigated for ADPKD but I am not aware of any.

Ji if you live long enough. One day you may still need dialysis. But slowing down means if you need dialysis in 10 years, these drugs will allow you to live without dialysis for 20 or 30 or 40 years or you may die before you ever need dialysis.
