Love them all, and especially the bud vases 🤗 your jaunt to Alaska sounds exciting, would be nice to see on video a little of what you find to be interesting, I have always wanted to visit Alaska too! I doubt I will be able to now though, so any insights of yours would be wonderful 🤗

Yup. Never take a sip out of my foxglove tankard except I think of Simon Leach, his studio, his kilns, and the myriad details of tankard manufacture I've had the opportunity to observe. And every tankard I see him pull out of a kiln gets compared to my tankard. ;)

Nicely done! Be safe in Alaska. I’d like a foxglove design bud vase please.

Love your videos. I am s newbie having taken classes for about a year and love that you teach all the way through. Can I ask the size if your kiln? I've only just purchased a wheel haven't even picked it up yet. I'm also beginning to look at kilns trying to decide what I need/want. That looks like a good size maybe.

Hi Simon. I saw that you most of the time fire only once. Can you tell next time how the procedure is of once firing, and if this is possible in a electric kiln. Greetings Kees from Holland.

May I ask at the start of this vid, Do you apply RIO decoration on biscuit hakame and then you'll apply a transparent glaze over?

Simon do you have a pyrometer in your kiln and also was this a cone10 rated kiln before the conversion?
@sleachpots4 жыл бұрын
Yes I have a pyro, kiln might have been rated for cone 10 but do not know for sure !?
@Lunarl4ndr4 жыл бұрын
@@sleachpots thanks for the reply. I'm converting a old small ^6 kiln and I was thinking I should probably get a pyro for it.
@jedwilliams64104 жыл бұрын
Cody Newberry Hi Cody. If the kiln has 3” brick in the walls it will go to cone 10. A small cone 6 kiln will work for cone 10 reduction but will cool faster so your glazes will tend to be shiny. You can get K type pyrometers on Amazon but make sure to get a similar thermocouple to the one you see simon using. The smaller gauge thermocouple probes won’t work. Ebay has the best deal on thermocouples that’s I’ve been able to find.
