When I was a student back in 2012 I would buy spaghetti which was 15p at the time, I would get the mushroom cream soup and sausages pack and make a big pot of creamy pasta with sausage! That would be my dinner for pretty much a week as I would make sure to freeze it in little container. I would also have banana and black coffe for breakfast and I would buy a big tub of potato salad from Iceland and frozen veg and rice. Lunch would be potato salad or veg and rice with a fried egg. Was super boring at times but I survived and it would be less than £40 a month on food since I would sometimes get fruit and salads to help

So I’ve technically done a £10 at Asda before. I think it was a little over but still under £11. I don’t have the receipts but I’ll need to do this again as it was around 3 - 4 months ago since I last shopped there (I now work in a food retail shop so I get more for less with a discount). If I remember the list it was: Spaghetti 4 Pack of potatoes Pasta x 2 Cheese (Asda brand) Beans Carrots (if they do the stew pack with a parsnip and onions then get that as that’s usually under £1) 2 tins of tuna (cheap ones) Bread Noodle packs (Asda brand) Bananas Sausages The great thing about Pasta is the amount of cheap dishes you can make with it. I was in a struggle for a whole month only having £30 for food for an entire month and found some cheap pasta dishes from aldi that you can make yourself. 1 bag of pasta is enough to make 3 meals if you know the amount. As well as rice is a good shout. It was a horrible month for me but looking up some tips on stews, pasta and rice dishes saved me the worries and £30 was just enough to go through it but I also did have other stuff in my flat as well for breakfast and ingredients. If I didn’t have any of them then it would’ve been impossible.

Possibly a frozen bag of mixed (often 'imperfect' ones are cheaper) berries, take some out the night before and have with the porridge. Oh, cheap baked beans would be healthier than spag hoops, whack some tarragon and paprika in and the cheap ones'll taste great!

It's not bad health wise and she does fantastic to get it for a tenner although if you can eat it, baked beans are probably a bit healthier than spaghetti hoops being a protein (I don't like spaghetti hoops though so I may be biased). I would probably just buy 4 pints of milk myself for 20p more just check the date of it will last a week. I'd probably spend a little more and get some cheese but when you're really strapped for cash that's not always possible. If you have a small freezer you could buy a big block once a month grate it all and freeze it to use with your omelette etc. Just some thoughts. I have also found in the long term batch cooking works out cheaper and a bit more variety again if you have freezer space but it does mean buying a few weeks worth of a lot of the food at once though. Ten pounds and eight pence, not one pound and eight pence as you stated.

I don't know anything about the currency differences between the U. S. and England but I don't think $10.00 would by that much here..

You would have to make some adjustments for sure because produce is much cheaper in the UK than US. Sub the jacket potatoes for a 2 lb bag of rice, add a 1 lb bag of lentils for protein, a few cans of tomato sauce.... that would be a good start. Realistically in the US, I would aim for $15 and ir would be challenging to do it at just one store.

Not enough food. You're supposed to have three meals and three snacks each day - bare minimum. I completely get doing this if you absolutely have to, but nobody should be advocating this type of diet
@megurineluka27676 ай бұрын
I eat a lot less than that

Three meals and snacks every day are not essential; that's just a construct of modern Western living. It's about the macronutrients and micronutrients you get in, and when you meet those needs you _probably_ also have enough calories. This girl's diet is an issue because she is undernourished by the ingredients, not because of the portions she eats.
