It took me a while to understand that Toni’s character was likely ultimately GOOD in her efforts to miscarry with Peter. She subconsciously knew what was going to happen. Just amazing.
@kellifranklin9872 Жыл бұрын
I think she knew as well. Her brother committed suicide because of their mother trying to put Paimon into him. Her father died of starvation so it could be that the mom was trying to put Paimon in the father and he chose to stop eating so he couldn’t be inhabited. All of the signs are there for sure, rather obvious or subliminal.

I love how observant you were throughout! The details really do matter in this film. When Annie & Peter are having the frank talk about when she almost set him on fire, she said "I was trying to SAVE you!". Deep down Annie must have always known her family was targeted for this ritual. The systematic breakdown of all of them through these traumas was always "meant to be" in order to release Paimon. @@CamGold I know this comment is super late, but wanted to let you know that the obituary shown in the very beginning states that Charles was Annie's brother (the one who killed himself at 16 b/c Ellen/Mom/Grandmother was "trying to put people inside him"). Annie named her daughter after him in remembrance, but changed it to the more feminine version (Charlie). I do agree that Charlie was always Paimon since birth--there's a photograph showing Ellen feeding Charlie a bottle, and if you look closely, there seems to be some of those black/brown flakes/herbs at the bottom (just like Joanie put in Annie's tea). I think it was the cult's intention from the beginning to create just the right circumstance to move Paimon into Peter as a male/preferred host--they just had to wait patiently for all of their schemes to fall into place and come to fruition. I love this movie and all of the tiny details you can pick up on with multiple viewings :-) ....

I knew I could come to Youttube to see a reaction video, and you guys came up first, I'm glad I did, and looking at other movies that you've watched, I've got ya on subscribe now. So, there's a scene in this movie where Peter looks like he's being manipulated and brutalized in the classroom, it looks like something is pressing up against his face, and it totally reminded me of a scene in a movie that sort of runs hand in hand with these A24 movies.... the 2018 remake of Suspiria. I'll let you discover it on your own, I'm a fan of the cwazy Italian slasher classic from 1977....which is when this remake takes place in, but there are changes, major changes. Ok, just a couple points: This remake is almost 2.5 hours long, in 6 acts and an epilog. (Amazing all female cast, with Tilda Swinton.... sorry, no spoilers!) The original movie was around 100 minutes.As far as remakes go, it's the best type, takes the basic premise and rebuilds the concept from the ground up. I'm sorry to take up space here, I know you must have a crazybusy schedule, actually I do too, I'm doing videos for the profile I m reaching out thru..... or i should be, lol Looking forward to seeing more of your reviews, ~Cheers! However, like you I did find myself analysing Hereditary as a piece of art rather than being drawn in and convinced by the story and characters, probably because the story is so unconventional and the characters are all so weird. If you're in the middle of the first watch of a horror film thinking "fabulous use of lighting" or "terrific acting" then it's possibly missing something.

I've watched quite a few of these reaction videos to this movie, and for some reason so many people get hung up on the nudity of the cult worshippers towards the end of the movie. Why? This movie has so much horror in it, yet, showing a little bit of nudity, especially a male penis, is a bridge too far. Why is that? Why do Americans, even those that are hardened to even the worst horror and gore, find simple nudity to be so startling?

Every time I see this movie I think if the beginning of Halloween Michael Myers as a little kid snapping killing his sister maybe he didn't snap maybe something grew inside him like Loomis said in six maybe something came over him like the family in this. Maybe a Myers ancestors made a deal with a demon for something promising their first born male Michael being that and at ripe age of six demons like its time to have fun lol. Not first tome in Halloween novelization they explore a curse in the Myers family going from samhain to present day and this curse passed down the Myers men like its hereditary lol hint hint lol til got to !Michael lol. Same ideas in paranormal activity movies though that one the demon befriends the kid makes them do bad stuff bad influence then takes them or kills someone or whatever its there to do chaotic last act lol. This demon is like vecna he can't just come you have to have a few people die before then dong dong dong here he is lol. Happy ending for paimon lol.

Not to be rude but people with family history shouldn't have kids by breeding but instead adoption

It was grandma that made her have Peter. That’s why the miscarriage didn’t work. Peter had to be born in order for Paimon to take over his body
