This trailer looks good coming from someone who finished Part 2 like 4 times. I personally absolutely loved both Part 1 and 2. For me both games are masterpieces. Goodluck to everyone that has not played part 2 yet.

THE EVENT will take place in one of the first 3 episodes because there are multiple scenes in Seattle in the trailer (the music shop and the subway tunnels, which is near the end of Seattle Day 1 in the game). I think there will be flashbacks but they definitely aren't saving the main event for the finale like a lot of people thought.

My guess? They have the guy who directed connor's wedding doing episode 2 and if you've seen that episode of Succession you know that is the guy you hire to depict the fallout of such an "event"

This season is going to be a roller coaster of emotions I can’t even imagine how much this season will cover and am very happy that Jeffrey Wright is reprising his role as Isaac hope they will flush out this character more

What I think they might do is episode 1 they switch between the characters, and then maybe they will do 1 episode with one character, and then switch to the other for an episode

It'll be interesting to see how they will structure the episodes. For sure, it won't be a 1:1 recreation of the game's timeline. And if the rumors of a two season-spanning adaption of the second game is true, I see the 'inciting incident' happening as a cliffhanger for season two.

Late to the Party let's talk about the elephant in the room that being will Joel meet the same fate in the show, as he did in the game. Yes AND no let me elaborate if your wondering if Abby will be playing golf with Joel this season the answer is no, Joel WILL NOT die the same way he did in the game he will still die. But he WILL NOT meet the brutal end he met in Part II now your probably wondering how I know this, well there was a report before the First Season came out that the show wouldn't be looking to be as violent as the games. Remember in the First Season they changed Joel's near death injury he didn't get impaled like he did in the game, so changing how he dies would definitely keep in tune with that Neil Drunkmann himself said recently expect similar major changes this season like last season.

idk man, there’s too many scenes a from the game that take place after Joel’s death in this trailer. Ellie is already seen in seattle in the trailer, there’s no reason she’d be there before Joel died, so it has to happen at least before the season finale.

If THAT SCENE happens super early in the season just to appease gamers, there will be a huge drop in viewership from TV audiences who love Pedro Pascal. It’s frustrating, but it’s true. You have to have those fans who just watch the TV show to want to continue the show after IT. HAPPENS. I’m sure HBO and the creators know this, and they’ll act accordingly. I could see that scene coming in the 3rd episode, maybe not episode 1. This is TV, it’s a different medium-gamers will have to accept that they have to cater to both gamers and non-gamers.

It's not really about appeasing gamers. That scene is the inciting incident that drives the entire plot. It kind of has to happen fairly early. I'm expecting it'll happen within the first couple episodes, maybe even the actual first episode.

@@tylerevans4582 I understand it’s the inciting incident, but part 2 will be in split in 2 seasons…so they’ll have time to flesh stuff out-therefore it may not happen as soon as gamers expect. I just get frustrated when gamers disagree with EVERY change the creators of the show make. They can change the order of things if they want to.
