There are scenes here that tell you the golf club comes in this season. There's the shot of Joel (that's his gun you see) saving Abby from the infected which leads directly to his demise. Then there are all the shots in Seattle which come after Joel is gone. So "it" happens in Season 2 the only question is when although it must be early rather than later in order to get to the Seattle things that are shown.

I think they are making 2 or 3 seasons for the whole second game stories. The second game had a really complex timeline between past and present, so I think they are going to have it much more organized if they had that amount of air time to really give the story the time it deserves.

Basically, it is a revenge tail. I loved the game. For me, I knew that they were going to switch, so it didn't bother me that much when I finally played Abby. I think Abby was a phenomenal character. You get to see that she is also a very caring and loyal person. I think casting Kaitlyn Dever was perfect, even if she doesn't get jacked.

So I think the reason the second part of the game didn’t do so well is because of the way they marketed it a certain way, altering scenes to make it seem like the game was going to be one way and then you play it and it’s completely different. I love Bella Ramsey as Ellie, but Bella will look 16 until she's 40. She's not going to look older as the show progresses - so they casted her counter part in Abby with Kaitlyn Dever - a younger looking girl. They're not focusing on the physicality, but rather the underlying motives of the characters. I think we're going to get a rearrangement of the flow of the game's part II in the show. But I'm SO stoked for it.

I have not played the games but was interested to see how I would feel about the show going forward after youtube spoiled the fate of a character after the 1st season since some moron wanted to do a playthrough video and their thumbnail was that character's outcome. I am glad that after watching this teaser I'm still invested in the story even though I know where some of it is going to end up. I know the journey is going to hurt but they did such a good job with the connection between the characters that I feel invested in taking that journey.

I think Abby being yoked in the game was a way to enhance her "villainess" to make her arc even more difficult for fans to get on board with (completely intentional). For a TV show, genuine question, how realistic is it for a female to become that physically imposing during a zombie apocalypse? She would need an absurd amount of calories and protein every day. I love the more realistic approach they are taking with it.

I don't think they will do one season that is Abby's season. I think what they're going to do is make season 2 everything leading up to "that moment" and will end with Ellie's journey. And then they probably put most or all of the flashback moments in season 2 as normal chronological moments. Because I think interjecting flashbacks into a TV show as opposed to a game would destroy the rhythm of the show. That kinda thing works much better in a video game. So I guess they don't start years later like the game did. Season 2 probably starts shortly after season 1 ended and they work their way up to the future moments with an eventual time jump, leading up to the big moment where they end the season.

3 season for part 2 is the latest statement or at least the goal. I liked Abby very much and she was never a villain for me. I already knew from the flashback in the intro why she did it and it was understandable. For me, the biggest mistake the game made was actually the introflashback, the summary of part 1 and the explicit focus on the doctor's corpse. I knew why. I couldn't hate Abby anymore, I was just infinitely sad, but not shocked.

I actually liked the way they broke up the plot in game 2. I think the switch from playing Ellie to playing Abby came at the perfect moment. I can understand why someone would want to go back and forth in the show, however. When playing the game you get into a certain frame of mind... you ARE that character. You are LIVING the story, and going back and forth would mess with that. Reading or watching the story is different. It can work better to intercut the different storylines. It is one reason I preferred the experience of watching the Lord of the Rings movies rather than reading the books. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the books and have re-read them many times, but while reading about Frodo and Sam in one storyline I was always thinking about what was going on with Aragorn, or Merry & Pippin. Intercutting the storylines was a wise decision on the part of Peter Jackson. The same could be true for The Last of Us.
