Palm lathering is the real deal. I've used all three techniques and it worked the best. This video covers up nicely. Also putting soappy water on your left hand is a nice touch. When i was a beginner to wet-shaving i didn't get the desired consistency while palm lathering because of my dry hand.

Great video Rod! The boar brush with your soaps is the way to go for sure. Great tips on how to use it. I agree with no pressure and letting the brush do the work. The bristles not only scrub the soap up from the puck, but they also do a great job incorporating air into the lather to give it more volume. I may have to piggy back on this video and share my tips to other Stirling fans as well. Thank you again team Stirling! Frank V 😀

Luv your suds Rod. That Peach is one of my fav's. Still tryin' to figure out how you make smell so natural like that. Literally, like a fresh, ripe peach. It's amazing. Pretty much a gourmand. Splash, as well. Although, I never have to load that long. Twenty seconds, tops... granted, I am using a synthetic brush.

@@StirlingSoapRod, I've been breaking it in and losing quite a few hairs. I make a lather with it and then hand lather and let it sit overnight, rinse, then I put it in cold water in the fridge...repeating that for 3 days.

@@sheshaveswithjill4838 It will shed a bit during the break-in period. We don't comb the boars like we do the other brushes to remove the loose hairs. The boar hair is just too brittle before it's broken in and we don't want to risk damage. The shedding will slow within a couple of weeks max. If it doesn't, just give me a shout and I will take care of it.

I'm a big fan of a bowl lather and I generally end up with quite a bit left because your soap lathers up so well. I just started taking the clean and fresh extra lather that did not get used and putting it back in the container to then get pulled in with the next time I need to shave. Any reason I wouldn't want to do this? Just seems like a nice way to not waste any of my beautiful Stirling Soaps! :)

You're far from the only person who does this. As long as you're keeping it clean, it will work just fine.

I’m new to wet shaving and am wondering how to clean the excess water and soap from the canister of shave soap? I’m assuming wipe the soap off and drain the water and it’s good to go?
@StirlingSoap3 жыл бұрын
Just drain off any standing water. No need to wipe the inside. You can clean up the outside of the jar if needed, but as long as you don't leave standing water on the soap long term, it will be just fine.

Is this how you recommended making a lather for shaving legs?
@StirlingSoap4 жыл бұрын
It absolutely can be used for shaving legs. You might also check out the "Lathering Videos" playlist on our KZbin Channel. Videos 1, 2, and 3 are very much worth a watch.

Thanks Rod! I appreciate the instructional videos and have a question on how to store Stirling soaps after use. I have learned from some other users on KZbin that it is best to clean off the puck of all residual soap/suds after use then turn the open container upside down, resting partially on the lid so the puck is ventilated and can dry thoroughly for the better part of a day prior to sealing the container with the screw on lid. In your experience, is this a good idea? Is it necessary? In a new video you did for the new travel bowls, I saw you open a container of Iced Pineapple soap and it looked like the lid had been put on without rinsing it off after the previous use, maybe I’m going to a whole lot of trouble for nothing? I do have many different Stirling soaps so it might be a month or more before I reuse a soap, in that case is rinsing and drying the puck a good idea? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
@StirlingSoap5 жыл бұрын
There's really no need to clean off all the residual suds. I never do. The only reason you would is if you just need to have it completely clean before storage. The only thing you absolutely have to do is ensure that you don't put the soap away while there is standing water in the tub. That will turn the soap to mush. Thanks for the order this weekend! Rod

Could you explain what you meant by saying "if you do a bowl later it's a bit different"? I bowl lather and I'm having a lot of trouble with my new boar brush.
@NDakota795 жыл бұрын
It's the easiest soap to get a sublime lather. When I'm traveling I only take the Stirling soap with me, cause I know it will perform with poor water quality, it will perform when I'm in a rush and lather it directly on my skin, it will perform when I apply a bit too much or too less water, it will perform no matter the circumstances.

Good products but your marketing is very weak. You could be doing so much better. You get wonderful reviews from KZbin shave channels but I see very little from the company.
