Our school is near the highway, and every monday we would have a flag ceremony. Since the speakers are so loud, ppl from the highway can hear it. Cars and motorcycles would stop, step out their cars, stand and sing the national anthem to pay respect. Even ppl walking around. It gives me chills when I see ppl paying respect to the anthem, the flag, and the country.

The Spanish version is more melodic, staying true to its poetic origins. The English version is more like a military march or a fighting song. The Tagalog version was designed to inspire and instill pride in land and country.

Rules: 1-Stop, stand up and pay respect by putting right hand on the left chest. 2- Do not dance. 3- YOU CAN NEVER CREATE YOUR OWN VERSION OF THE SONG... This is the hardest song to sing among Filipino singers, because the whole country will be listening and it's against the law too.

The 3 versions of our national anthem represent the Philppines. Spanish version was sung by my grandparents, the english version sung by my parents ( who passed away 3 years ago.), In my age we sing the tagalog version. But I did study in my school days the 3 versions for us to know of the past regimes.

Putting our right palm to our left chest is only necessary if there's a flag we can look at while singing. The best way to bring back Spanish language in the Philippines is to have the national anthem be sung in original Spanish version, so that it would be inculcated into the minds of future Filipino children that Spanish is not just a mere foreign language for Filipinos but as a national language one where Filipino heroes like José Rizal fought the excesses of Spanish colonial rule through writing in Spanish.

I'm just so proud of our roots, our National Heroes fought for our freedom and the very reason why we have this beautiful National Anthem. For some reasons, I found the Spanish version the most authentic to hear, the English version the most upbeat, and if course the Filipino version the most heartfelt. I'm delighted so much, that you made this reaction video. I hope you come to the Philippines when this pandemic is over. Mabuhay kayo Sol and Luna! Lovelots from the 🇵🇭

Right hand on your left chest is a sign of honor and salut to the flag. We do it with the national anthem too. But it is not technically mandatory to do it for just the anthem. Right hand above your heart, facing the flag. But when singing the anthem, one must drop everything. Your bag, whatever you are holding, stop if you are walking, face the nearest flag (if there is one), left or both hand (if without flag) on the sides.

Our rules in singing our National Anthem are very strict here in the Philippines. In the morning, when you hear the PNA being played, regardless of whether you are in the street or inside the building, house, etc, you have to stop what you're doing, stand in place, put your right hand on your heart (left chest) sing and stay where you are until the PNA is through. If you are in an area where there is a Philippine flag, you have to face the flag (or in general direction where the flag is). The PNA must be sung in it's official version, no adlibs, you can not create your own version. The PNA is sung in school, every morning during the flag-raising ceremony and in the late afternoon on a Friday (only done in schools, after classes) during the lowering of the flag. In malls and grocery stores before they officially open ( if you're early enough to do your shopping/groceries), in public buildings and parks too.

Same culture. Whenever we hear our national anthem we stop all of a sudden to pay respect. Whatever you are doing must be stop, it consider rude if not. We dont laugh, clap or do anything while singing it. We just put our right hand to our chest for respect. Very very same. But yes unfortunately the generation now they took it for granted... some pays respect, some dont because of some circumstances. But nayway u can see people pay respect when they heard it from school, cinema, or sportsgame. -i think this is the new revised version of the Philippine national anthem in english. Loving Country The Pearl of the Orient The blaze of the heart In thy heart is Life The Land that was Chosen The cradle of brave souls As for the invaders, They will never oppress thee The seas and mountains The breeze and thy azure skies The poem is splendid Also is the song of freedom. The glitter in your flag Is the lustrous victory And thy star and sun Will never cease to shine Land of the sun of glory and passion The skies are alive in thy presence Our joy is when someone come to opress thee Is to die while protecting thee from them.

there is a law in our Philippine Flag.... RA 8491... there states that when the National anthem is sung... Stand straight face to the flag right hand on the chest left hand on the back and sing the song with pride... also in the law states that the anthem shall be played only in special events, ceremonies and any competition that has the Philippines as one of the representatives

I haven't heard our national anthem for a long time. I have teary eyes listening and feeling the pride when it was sung in Tagalog. Chosen Land by the Lord, from the novel of Dr. Jose Rizal Eden, forgotten, Pearl of the Orient; Ophir (Philippines) land of the brave.
