I was on the same boat as him 2 years ago. I don't want to go into details, but I didn't leave any friendships behind. I just learned to move on and eventually found someone who is better and better for me. For anyone that's reading this. I've tried to do what Waleska said she would do, but it's probably the hardest thing out of all your options. I just chose to be happy. I've been in that kind of situation, my male close friend for 3 years we were so close that I thought we have already this "romantic relationship" because obviously I like him a lot and he kinda knows it, he also shows that he really really care for me that I'm always first before our other friends. But, one day a female came into our life and he fell for her so because I was hurting and devastated everytime I hear him say her name and of course she comes first now than me so I decided one day that I must stop myself from loving him and detached myself from him. It was so freaking hard to do because we were classmates (college) and we have same friends. Like Efra said I lost some friends through that process and kinda regret that decision because their relationship just ended after a few months lol but now we're okay, casual friends I guess. Just want to share if ever someone is in this kind of situation, before you make a decision always think twice or more because you don't know if you're going to regret it someday. 😅✌️

It's hard to admit to yourself that you are essentially being used by someone you love. Harder still when you come to that realization and yet can't help yourself but be there for them anyway. Selfless love is just brutal like that sometimes. I agree that removing yourself from the situation is the healthiest thing you could do for yourself. Doesn't make it easier tho. In fact, it's quite impossible if you keep on holding on to the hope that maybe they would eventually appreciate your value. I had been in that situation. What did I do? I just let myself get hurt until I became tired of all the pain and everything and then I just cut friendship with her. Allowing yourself to get hurt most of the time gives you a very valuable lesson. After all the hurt, pain, and sorrow you'll start to love yourself ; appreciate other things that you ignored just to dedicate your life to her.
