I PLAYED DISC GOLF FOR 365 DAYS (AM I STILL A BEGINNER?)

One year ago I played my first round of disc golf. To my help I had Tomas Ekström, disc golf hall of famer, to show me some different shots and discs. I figured it´d be interesting to see what has happened in a year (given all the disc golf I´ve played is on this channel). So we went back to the same course, round and discs to see sort of if I´m still a beginner :).

Don't be too hard on yourself, Jonathan get to throw multiple discs of the same make, that certainly helps to hone them skills in a shorter amount of time because of said volume, not many noobs find themselves in that situation. I've played on and off again for a number of decades and I still don't trust my driving, it's a good thing that midrange and putting game is at least half decent.

Go out to tags and make some friends who are better than you, I got a lesson from the guy who shoots 12 under in the wind at our easier course and felt 8 months of improvement in an afternoon

Glad to see Tomas again! Have to say, this series has been WONDERFUL to watch, although, since you have made a bag, I think you should have thrown those instead. I understand why you used the same discs as last year, but using the new ones shows more maturity in your game and all the work that you put in. Maybe play this course again with your actual bag?

I've been playing for 20 years, though with the last 14 years, it has only been 6-10 rounds a year. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching you learn, and the tips you have gotten have improved my own game.(especially the one that took the pressure off my knees). My local course in Florida is all flat and empty fields, with razor palmetto bushes as hazards to dig in....I feel like any given round on the course you played, with all of those trees, I could throw much worse than you did! So I've seen this young guy pick up the sport and learn for a single year...and now I'm in danger of having to admit you are throwing better scores than me....pretty soon I'm going to have to make the time to practice and get better, so I can convince myself I'm still better than this "new kid" ;)

Keep it dry...what I say to myself every time I throw my gold line Flow on hole 9 at my home course. Lost it once. Fished it out. Been dry ever since.

I played a round about 2 weeks into playing and shot a +22 thru 18, came back about a year later with discs I’ve never thrown and shot -5, I think I got a little bit better

To me when you throw your body is too "straight" which is very hard to control the release with, try to lean forward a tiny bit and put the momentum in the hips and the right knee
