Hey Latasha! I am brand new to all of this and just took a job doing it part time while I also pursue freelance writing (long term goals!). I have probably watched at least 10 of your videos in the past two weeks and I am SO thankful. Your information is so helpful and you are a great communicator! Plus stunningly beautiful. What held me back from long form was constantly coming up with topics to write about. I’d try to write about everything. Then I found out about answer the public and also hired someone to gather my keywords and golden keywords for seo optimization. Put those into a binder and now I have created a content calendar so I know what to write when. In short. Having a plan and strategy prevented my long game.

REally loved your points here. Also a big Building a Story Brrand fan. You might really enjoy Mike Kims "You Are the Brand" especially on your distribution point! He uses this thing called the shopping mall analogy that really crsttalizes centering yourself and having open and closed doors to your brand. Those doors represent different online and in-person channels as enty points. Beutifully written book and the audio version has all sorts of other goodies. I think it really aligns with what you're saying and would bring even more value to your clients too! Great work, Latasha! Found a new podcast to devour.

I can hug you, you just pushed me over the cliff in a good way! "Self" I'm about to start out..."for about 3 years now🤭" ok but I've made progress...at least decided it's this year...already started testing the waters w some reels, insta posts and creating a FB page. Need to pluck up the nerve for TikTok still... but since you mentioned you can either do original or repurpose what you already have. However my long term platform KZbin I need to get going. Have lotsa content already stored away over past 2 years ..and get inspired every week. Wish me 🤞 luck to progress

Thank you for this video! I am watching your videos like crazy lately, they offer me great guidance. (I note down everything too) I will begin working with this beauty salon in Romania on Monday and I want to propose them a strategy until then. What I did so far: -Social Media Audit on their pages -Sent them a 6 pages pdf with the metrics I can provide them each month and a little explanation on each metric What I think I should do until Monday: -Research what is popular on the beauty industry on each platform in Romania, Bucharest (where we are based) -Study what other successful businesses on this industry do on their social media pages -Establish exactly WHAT type of content we will post on social media -Create a posting calendar for social media -Study Google Analytics for beginners (I only know google ads) to prepre the plan for campaigns for them (analytics on what they have already posted, because I can see where they went wrong based on their current statistics) -Create the ‘perfect customer’ profile so I know who we refer to and talk to them about it on Monday (it helps the ads) What holds me back really is just the research part, I need to learn as much as I can until we can start testing the theory while posting. I am in charge of photo-videography and editing, on posting, on advertising and I think learning a bit of digital marketing as well will help me prepare their pages to sell their services better. As I have experience as a social media moderator and video editor (1 year, 2 months) and I have a client whom I raised his tiktok account from 3k to 185k in this year, and the materials we made reached over 40Milion people online, on all platforms, so I know how social media works, but I need to study more the pro managing part, with more metrics than just the basic ones. Unfortunately, they want me to do everything and I need the money so I can’t really refuse, and I want to do the best I can to grow their pages in order to gain more clients. I really do not mind doing all of this, as long as I see results from my part as well, reason why I study this field more now. What do you think of my plan? Any feedback is much appreciated! Ioana

Question-when we "keep it to 2-3 ", can within those 2-3 have many different variations? If for example one of our content pillars for an English teaching channel is pronunciation, can a subset of that be things like tongue twisters, guess which word is being pronounced, reading challenge, difficult to pronounce vocabulary, a series on phonetic sounds, etc" ? I feel like that becomes slightly confusing especially if each content pillar a few subsets of how it can be presented.....

Thanks for sharing Latasha! My question - wouldn't it be better to do the target audience research first and then the distributed channels + list of topic ideas. Knowing what where your target audience is likely to show up would influence which channels to use. Also knowing their painpoints + interests would make it easier to choose your topics.
@thelatashajames2 жыл бұрын
Yeah this video was kind of written with the assumption you know who your audience is already, hence "if you're having trouble figuring out where you should be..." at 6:30. If you don't yet know your audience, then that step should definitely come first 😊

@tiffanyramus34652 жыл бұрын
Pinterest is more of a search engine than anything else. Most of the time the pins are linked to a website/blog post, so I guess it depends on what the pins are linked to. If I had to pick one I guess I'd say short form but also not really either. 😅
