I have seborrheic dermatitis as well. I’ve been following this method for almost a year now and I haven’t had an outbreak at all. My hair stylist said many of her clients have had the same experience with the detox. That’s a huge plus for me! Good luck on your journey!

Your hair looks gorgeous. I've been following the detox method since early March. My hair retains a style and moisture between wash days. I use all the products that you displayed. I've only had to repurchase UFD. I do twist a couple of times a month with kinky curly leave in and CRN almond Jai or mousse def. I alternate between twist and wash n goes. I've drastically decreased product stash/junkie habits. My hair and scalp are much happier.

I’m 9 months in to no oils/butter journey and love it so much. Not only is my hair more moisturized regularly (found out water is keyyy) but it also has drastically reduced my wash day time. I wash my hair every 2 weeks. My hair is similar density and length to yours. As far as detangling, what helps the process be shorter is that during the week, I spend like 4-5mins tops most nights separating my hair into 4 big puff sections before bed, spritz water, and run my fingers through my hair to break apart any of the bigger knots. So then, on wash day, I get my hair soaking wet with the old product still on it (before I shower), and detangle in 20-30mins , which is much shorter than my 2hrs before I did this method. The key is the short but regular nightly detangle care in the week.
@stargazerlily70163 жыл бұрын
Also, what has been a relief with this method is the realization that I don’t have to spend hours twisting or braiding my hair to achieve a beautiful look. It has helped me to realize my natural curls are beautiful without the re-work!

I have to admit my hair is feeling much better and I’m only on week 3 of the detox. Your products choice matters. It might hurt a lil bit at first (money wise) but they’re very concentrated so you don’t really need a lot. Therefore they will last you a while.

This was SO helpful. But I think the most important guidance is if you have 3 shampoos, when do you reach for each of them? Same with conditioners? This is the part that gets more confusing than the product selection tbh.
@LaToyaEbonyHair3 жыл бұрын
Of course they teach you this in their course, but it's a great question. I'll write it down for a future video. In short: clarify as needed, all purpose shampoo, moisturizing shampoo, lastly conditioner.
@Ossouko3 жыл бұрын
If it’s your first go you have to do a deep cleanse like Latoya said so you need to clarify with a real clarifying shampoo to get rid of everything . You have to feel that squeaky clean feeling we all scared of.😅 Then follow up with a moisturising shampoo. Then your conditioner. Depending on your lifestyle and how active you are you should only need to clarify once a month. So you have one week you add the clarifying step on top of the regular routine then 3 weeks of moisturising shampoos and conditioner and a styler. Also you can squeeze a cowash, if you feel your hair needs it or sweat a lot, in between your washes.That’s the recommendation I was given and I run 4/5 days a week and practice yoga everyday. I got to try the products before I made up my mind but a good way to save some money is to buy travel size products first see what works and what doesn’t. If you do the cleansing properly you will automatically know. All the best!

I don’t think the creators of the 30 day detox classified the Innersense pure harmony hair bath as moisturizing. It’s listed as an all purpose like the AG balance.
@PreppyFay123 жыл бұрын
LaToya if you want you can mix the innersense Conditoner with equal parts AG balance Conditoner if you didn’t want to or were unable to return. Also not sure how long you leave the conditioners in but I’d follow the directions of leaving them in at least 3 - 5 minutes and add more water to detangle so in the end you’ll be leaving them on longer while detangling

Loving the hair and looking forward to the video about it! I really like the Hydrating Cream Hairbath it is very moisturizing. Some ladies like the Color Radiance, but I haven't tried that one yet. I'm not much of a product junky so when I'm low on what I currently have I might try the small travel size of Color Radiance to see if I like it, but I'm also curious about the Ouidad oil shampoo. It will be months before I need shampoo again so I just have a list of shampoo I might want to try. Knowing me I'll most likely just stick with the Hydrating Cream.

I have seborrheic dermatitis as well. However my Dermatologist told me years ago no oils on the scalp only on the hair. Sometimes I'm stubborn and put a little oil on my scalp but you really shouldn't. I've always washed my hair weekly even with braids. The no moisturizers doesn't work for me though. I actually use 2 and they really help my hair.

Hi LaToya. I've doing the detox journey as well. I really like the AG Balance conditioner. I think I finally got the conditioning step down w/regards to the amount of water & conditioner my hair needs. I noticed it didn't take as long to detangle my hair during this last wash. I don't think I'm going to get the Innersense conditioner. I do like hydrating cream hairbath. I feel that it sets me up nicely for the condition & detangling process. I think you'd like the AG Balance. My next goal is working out the setting & styling part. It hasn't quite clicked for me yet. 😊

@stargazerlily70163 жыл бұрын
Clarifying makes hair feel dry/stripped at first. But that’s the first step to actually helping ones hair retain moisture before we condition and style it. Our hair tends to be sooo thirsty because we have so many layers of gunky buildup (moisturizing shampoos typically do not really cleanse hair)
