To address some comments here: When the PDK is in auto, pull the stick to the left and it goes into manual mode, which is why it has paddle shifters. If you're in manual mode, it will hit the rev limiter, but if you activate launch control, it will automatically upshift at the redline. Also, you don't have to turn traction control off to activate launch control. Lastly, if you use 7/8 throttle, launch mode will launch at 5,000 rpm. Full throttle launches at the rev limiter.

I don't think launch mode will activate unless your gas is pedal to the floor.... Hitting that accelerator button fully depressed... Am I missing something here?

I’ve just bought one - you are a cretin if you disable the traction control - this vehicle is a beast and the only harness you have is traction control unless you are superhuman! Trust me I have waited 40 years to buy a 911 - driven many over the years- turbos Carreras etc etc etc - the 991.1 is by far the best and forgiving for us mortals

beebigger2 Your the idiot. The manual says nothing about traction control. Because when launch control engages, it automatically ALLOWS wheel spin. Up to 15 %. It doesn't matter if tc is on or off. There is a video on KZbin of a pdk turbo doing 50 back to back launches. Wheel spin doesn't affect the transmission negatively. If your dealer told you that, I'd find a new dealer.

One last thing is that you can always override the transmission with the paddle shifters, even in automode. If you use launch control and then want to short shift it, you can.

Just sold my C6 Corvette and E92 BMW. I was going to get an M4 until I tried an 991.1 C2S. Everything feels solid on the Porsche but if one needs to bring 3 adults comfortably, the M4 is an incredible car. I got the 911!

How accurate are these data's? Seems a little bit off to me. 991 GT3, 75 more HP, 3.5. ( Porsche claims). 991 C4S is heavier, the best tested time for 991S was 3.9-4.0. Way to go!

AWD = All Wheel Drive. The motor powers all 4 Wheels like in a SUV :P Sportscars usually only have 2 wheel drive. For example the GT3 or the normal carerra S only have 2 wheel drive, but the 4S and the TurboS have 4 wheel drive

991GT3 Tonight I tried it with my 2015 Turbo Convertible and I got 60 in 2.83 sec.

No - the normal Porsche has 350, the 991s has 400 but you can buy a increase of the power for about 15-20000€ (i hope this price is right - cant remember the price) and then you have 430bhp

Launch control is not coming with sport chrono package automatically. Only 'Performance Start' (weaker version of launch control) comes with sport chrono package. In order to have launch control you have to order an extra option called: 'Launch Vehicle, option number 762.

Nope. "Launch vehicle" option code simply means it was one of the first vehicles of that build (991 4S in this case) off the assembly line. It has nothing to do with Launch control. Two different things.Means it was a Porsche or dealer optioned vehicle and not a customer optioned vehicle.
