Very nice to have! I might have to get one in the future. Right now, I’m still looking for dash cams. Do you think you might review the Pruveoo 4 channel dash cam. It seems to be literally the only one of its kind and it’s under 200 dollars. I’m not sure if it’s too good to be true or it might be a bust. ?

What scanned would you recommend for a car that has the issue of intermittent not starting due to an ignition fault?

Hi Levi! if your car supports OBD2 and you have a check engine light on, you can use this scanner to confirm it the MIL is related to the ignition fault. However if there is no check engine light (if the MIL if off) you will not get a code. On those cases I normally troubleshoot a car with an intermittent issue with the normal old school process (visual inspection, verifying individual components related to the system in question and consulting with the service manual of the car). Hi Juan! This code reader supports the standard vehicle OBDII communications protocols: CAN, KWP2000, ISO9141, J1850 VPW. So as long your vehicle is 12V and supports one of the protocols it should be able to communicate with it (on a side note, in the USA OBD2 became mandatory on 1996 for all cars sold in the USA). Hi Rofolfo! The instruction for updating the tool are found in your owners manual, page 29 if I remember correctly however I usually don't recommend updating the firmware unless directed by tech support to do so or if you are willing to accept the the risks involved with updating it. If something goes wrong during the upgrade, you can potentially turn your scanner into a brick (it has even happened to me LOL). Firmware updates for these type of scanners are not like the App updates we get on our phones (where we are constantly updating it). I would be extremely careful if attempting this. Cheers!

Hi Alex! This would depend on your Motorcycle since OBD2 was only recently made mandatory for motorcycles in 2016 and up (in USA). Hi Ahmad! this would depend on your car, some cars have a general knock sensor that can trigger a check engine light in case of a misfire however it will not narrow down which is the actual cylinder. And there are other more advanced cars that have more sensors to help narrow down the actual cylinder that maybe the issue. Hope this helps, Cheers!
