Launching Barbco's Hard Rock Retractable Roller Cone Cutting Head!

On this job in Springfield Missouri, we successfully launched our BBC-55 Retractable Roller Cone Cutting Head into some difficult split face, hard rock ground conditions.
As you can see in the video, the entrance point of the bore was uneven, split-face ground. Starting the head directly into this virgin ground wouldn't be smart, as the cutting head won't be able to get a good bite on proper line and grade. To combat this, a concrete form is poured in front of the entrance point to allow the cutting head to properly collar into the virgin ground.
