Just an idea: Would personalized laundry bags be easier? Wash each person’s bag in separate washer, separate dryer then put back in said laundry bag. Wash towels and sheets in their own loads. Kids can bag up their own clothes and eliminates having to sort once back home. Keep it sorted through whole process.

You can’t tell me it wouldn’t be cheaper to fix whatever the situation is at home that prevents you from doing laundry at home. There are 6 if not more kids in that house that could do a load a week of their own laundry. These children are going to grow up not having the smallest clue how to do everyday basics because they have never had to!

Have you ever thought about calculating what you spend on paper products and laundrymat costs for a year and presenting it to the County (or whomever is dragging their feet on your sewer issue)? I wonder if they saw it, they might consider stepping things up a bit.

If you watch older episodes you will learn that they are waiting on their city to fix an issue. They are limited on how much water they can use until then. They have been waiting for over a year.

When our family was larger we had a bin for each child. We washed each bin in one load and dried In one load and did not mix loads with other children’s loads and when finished put back in their designated bin. Saved time on the sorting.

Also, watching you navigate the world for not just you but your 12 kids makes me feel a little braver to do it myself. I have horrible social anxiety, i dont trust most adults and i have this weird deep deep feeling that is always there that makes me feel like every adult is out to do something bad to me for some reason, even though i am an adult myself. I feel like a scared kid anytime i leave my home. I cant even drive sometimes because of my anxiety and i needed to drive around to do stuff for myself and i just couldnt. I tried a psychiatrist but all he did was give me medication that rendered me even more unable to drive to complete my daily tasks. So i just gave up and gave in. I avoid going out. I have been needing to go to the doctor for a long time but i avoid that too. Watching Alicia step up and do her best for her family makes me feel like i can do it too.

It's their septic system. They are waiting to connect to the city sewer system. That is why she goes to the laundromat.

They are on a 2 or 3 year wait to get hooked up to city water. Their septic can't take dishes and laundry for 14 people. I so hope they get hooked up sooner than later. That is also why all the paper plates bowls and so on. No DW No WD.

They've been trying the entire time they have lived in this house. The city isn't in a hurry to fix it, so they're kind of stuck. Not too much they can do about it, apparently.

I have a daughter who is now a fully grown married lady. When she was living at home I used to wash 3/4 loads a day. Since she moved out into uni accommodation my wash load went down the 2 loads a week. Now she has two small children and works full time my laundry load has increased again lol. No she isn’t lazy she works really hard as a teacher in a primary school so her time is filled with work and out of school activities and setting work for her pupils. So I just pop round her house (nextdoor) very convenient 😂 and grab a few loads of laundry. If I am honest I am totally worn out at the close of play so I would very much think you must be completely worn out Alicia. At least get them to fold their laundry my 7 and 5 year old grandsons do that yeah it’s not great folding but it’s a start. ❤❤

All these comments about laundry! So much easier to do what she does! She would need to install several laundry units in her house to do those loads! Just one load takes like 2 hrs! Wash and dry! She be doing laundry 24/7! Plus where would she has space for it? One thing i would do however is hiring a laundry service for pick up and drop of. Since money is of no issue.

I understand you have a lot of Laundry. I had three boys they Change a lot. But I do laundry At home in an old Magtag washing machine. Let them wash as long it could. The hang laundry on lines outside. Have nice day.

Such a wonderful mama! I love doing laundry, and we have 11 children. All my older children can do laundry, and we all rotate who does the laundry, but everyone puts away their own laundry no matter who does it. I also see nothing wrong with doing it myself. Her love language might be acts of service. What a way to get everything done fast!

With the amount of laundry they go through, it's probably more efficient to do it this way. Not to mention, they'd need multiple machines to be able to handle this much, and they only have so much space as well.

Their septic tank is broke ..they share a septic tank with other neighbors .that's why she takes laundry and it makes content .

I wish that I could just throw everything in the washer together, it would be so much less work for me, but my OCD makes me wanna separate everything. Btw, an easy plant for ur garden is the Hosta plant, altho they aren't an all summer blooming plant, they will produce a flower in late summer. They are extremely easy to care for & will come up every year & they self multiply quickly.

Any thoughts to folding and sorting while at the laundry then place each kids clothes in a designated bin or basket for them to put away when they get home from school? At least at the laundry you have a big table, hopefully, to fold on and sorting might be easier with designated bins. Just a thought. You've got so much on your plate, cutting any corners is worth it!!

I know you were asking about easy-to-tend-to garden flowers and as a (former) garden centre manager, here’s a few suggestions: For full sun ☀️ Sunflowers! ❤ you love these! Zinnias (they’re orange 🧡) Marigolds (also orange 🧡) Nasturtium (more orange ones! 🧡) Partial shade/full shade: Impatiens (they come in so many different colours) Begonias (also, many colours to choose from) Fuchsias 🌸 🌺 🌹 I hope this helps ❤

I agree , this is insane . Why can't she do it when the kids can learn to help her ? The kids need to learn to help her and responsibilities . It's fantastic to just sit and play games or study , which is good for them, but this is too much for her to do . I've never seen them do anything . Wake up sweet heart ❤️ . Teach them to work too . They will appreciate it in the long run , called LIFE 😢

I mean, our jobs as parents are to teach them to take care of themselves, right? Shoot, my 10, 16, and 21 year old could have lived by themselves if they had to, since they were about 6! They need to know how much care it takes for ADLs and daily management! If they had to do all that laundry themselves, in my experience, they wouldn't dirty up so much 🤣 my kids sure are more aware, and with dishes as well! unless the clothes are brand new, you dont have to sort your clothes when washing! :> colors dont bleed as often in modern times, so unles its something fragile like lace or something, its faster to just stuff everything in together

Marigolds are very hearty as are zinnias, bachelor buttons, sunflowers, Cannas, nasturtiums, and petunias. For shady spots try begonias. For sunny spots try geraniums.

No hate but I would keep the system and add in any kids 10 and older to help fold for 1hour and then they can go do whatever. Maybe have 3 folders and 3 putting away clothes. When I don’t have time to sort I put a color catcher in and if you’re using the big washers like that put two in and then you don’t have to worry about it because the color catchers catches all the dyes and everything so your laundry comes out looking so much nicer it only takes a second to throw a couple color catchers in there I know it’s an added expense but it really is well worth it and I even leave them in until they’re dried do you know till my clothes are dry now take them out wanna fold them it’s perfect for large families

Have ever gotten the drop off service? I had mountains of back up laundry similar to your load. I paid $85 and my clothes were fresh folded and hung. Best money I have ever spent 😂

Her kids have chores. They get changed out monthly. She’s explained this in previous vlogs. She also does laundry at laundry mats because it is just easier. Also, when her kids are not in school they DO help out with laundry. They DO put their clothes away when they are there and not in the activities or in school. Just keep that in mind. Her kids are busy just like her. They share the work load. Also, I hope you guys are doing alright with how bad the air quality is over there.

4:14 thanks for reminding me Alicia! Sometimes i just want to hide in my room because it feels like everyone is rude or mean for no reason when i always try to be kind. I think it is just my PTSD and anxiety. I am afraid and wary of adults but i trust kids easily because when i was a teenager i was harmed by an adult and the only people who made me feel better were my friends who teens like me. They helped take my mind away from a place no teenagers mind should be and i still feel that way now that i am adult. It is hard for me to trust other adults and have patience for them and sympathize with them. I work better with kids but i think its because my emotional development was pretty much stunted at age 15. The dougherty videos are the one of the ONLY videos that truly make me feel 100% comfortable, at ease and content. Anxiety doesnt exist when i watch Alicia and her family.

What about color coded laundry baskets. That way you dont have to sort and you can drop each basket back to each of the older kids so they can fold/put away and then you just have you, Josh and the younger kids...?
