Hi Tony! I replaced the cartridges because the cold side's handle would work itself loose & wobble. I found that the stem was starting to strip out. The new cartridges are better quality. Initially, I wondered if Price Pfister sent me the wrong parts.

I noticed the hot is turned off to the right, clockwise and the l cold is turned off to the left, counterclockwise. Yes, those cartridges do seem hard to pop out most times. Yours was easy, I see. 🚰 Thank you for the video.

You are very observant, Sheri. Yeah, that's odd the way the handles turn. I think the originals turned that way too... I could never turn them the right way first try. I replaced them because the plastic stem on the cold was slightly stripped. The handle would wobble and sometimes you could turn the knob past the stop. The new cartridges seem to be a better quality (rare these days). The faucet was installed in 2010. Interestingly, when searching Pfister's website the model number of the faucet (WU2-1) does not show up, nor does the original part number for the cartridges. I've had some of those cartridges give me a fight to get them out. I was pleasantly surprised that these came out so easily.

@@Know-How-Now I was looking at my laundry faucet again and noticed that the change I did a few yrs back was taking out the old one handle controlled faucet that had poor control of hot water and replaced it with one like yours. (I had thought it was the other way around but was mistaken.) The one I replaced it with has the two knobs like yours and also has handles sticking out from each knob to turn. The right one opens clockwise and closes counterclockwise, as it should using the right hand. The hot, left knob turns on counter clockwise with the left hand and closes clockwise. That makes sense to me now. That's the same procedure with other two-handle faucets.

My kitchen sink works the same way and has horizontal handles sticking out from the knobs. It's more intuitive when looking at it with that kind of handles.

@@sheri023 : FYI ~ "Knob Handles" hot & cold work the same. Clockwise off for both. Lever Handles are "Opposing" . for repairs to lever handles us a "Hot Stems & Cold Stem". for Knob Handles, use both "Hot Stems".
