all I can ever think about when I watch your videos is how nice it must be to have so much sun. The plants are all so resilient, removed from the dirt, taking a root trimming etc. like damn. Way up in Canada where I am, my plants die if I look at the them the wrong way.

Tracy S I don’t think so. Barrel cactus should be able to survive on rainwater alone.

Laura can you give a little speech about watering in hot weather? I thought once a week in the summer, twice a month (or less) in the winter....my garden looks pretty good, but I do lose a few things each summer...too much water?

Ah, too bad the Aloes bit the dust, but agree, fungus from the heavy rains, and didn't have enough time to dry out inbetween ?! wow, huge Agave..she quite loved the rains obviously, and wasn't stressing so didn't put out pups. Good to hear that you are decreasing timing of watering. All in all, think 99% of the garden looks great and you made good choices and lots is thriving ! A great look back at original installation, so inspiring. Okay, Laura, ear piece/microphone, get in the habit of taking it off when you get back into truck to go home, put it right there with your hat, your gloves, and your driving glasses lol.

Aloe Blue Elf are mite resistant too! The problem with the others certainly didn't look like Aloe Mite and I def trust Laura that it's a fungal issue but wow Blue Elf looking especially tough and pretty.

Hi ....I love your videos. They are great and informative. However I had a query. I had planted some succlent cuttings and have planted them in succlent soil but I don't see any or much roots in the cuttings. It's been 2-3week or little more. Should I water them? Are the roots growing slow since I have not watered them atall since propagation? Please help.

Can't tell if it's the same problem i had a while ago, but it could also be thrips damage. It looks fungal from a distance but with thrips, one can usually spot suspicious linear scars and little spots of frass, amongst others. Apparently there has been a new species of aloe thrips circulating worldwide lately, they usually attack weak, new plants rather than well-established ones. Could also be the aloe rust fungus
@bluejava9856
@bluejava9856 4 жыл бұрын
I forgot to mention that these thrips are particularly small, fully grown adults are 1 mm long or so at most

You mention limbing up the Agave Joe Hoak by three rows of leaves and replanting. Please confirm - was the full stalk, including where the leaves were removed, buried in the soil? I need to remove some bottom rows on my Agave, and prefer the stalk not be visible, but am unsure about burying it so the bottom remaining leaves are at ground level. Thanks.

That aloe in the beginning is soooooooo gorgeous, mine is only 2 inches tall. 😆. Then I saw the saw aloes. I cried my eyes out. My brother asked why I was crying and I told him a small aloe massacre occurred and he started crying too. I have a jade that’s been rained on, and then got sun so it burned to a black crisp. (It’s still alive). Good luck with the tiny aloes, hope they end up in a better spot or the possibly *new* garden of death!🍀🌵❤️ 8:15 I will *not* be seen... by all these scary spikey barrels Edit: oh, I also have a cacti with what seems like a fungus, is there a way to prevent fungus from spreading or from killing a succulent? 🙏🏽!

I did ask you last time about the glove you use for working with cactus. You response with thank you but not answer. Please let me know the brand and where I can buy it. Thanks
@LauraEubanks
@LauraEubanks 4 жыл бұрын
I don’t have a special type. I typically get whatever is on sale at the garden center. I go through gloves very quickly. For your home use, I recommend a leather gauntlet style that will protect your hands as well as arms if you’re working regularly with cactus.
