When I was your age (50 years ago!) my grandmother taught me how to make potato soup 😊. Learning to cook can be fun. I'm sure that your mashed potatoes will be delicious.

I'm totally going to try this recipe. I've always used a sourdough bread fresh baked of course but I'm thinking this year it'll be french 🍞. I leaned to make stuffing yeeeears ago when I was first married and my mother-in-law made the best I had. Only using bread cubes, onions, celery and yes Italian sausage. I never liked stuffing until I had it with Italian sausage. Now it's the only way I make it. Your recipe reminds me so much of hers. I think the only difference is she stuffed hers in the Turkey which I'm okay not doing. Makes it much easier

Great idea. My wife and I like to make our own bread in the bread-maker for this application. We fresh-grind the flour from a good whole-grain-multi-grain mix, typically, millet, barley, oats, rice, spelt and a little bit of wheat. Other than that the recipe is the very same as yours, Laura.

Looks good...I make it very similar but with more stock..and with loose breakfast sausage..I have to say....the best stuffing is inside the turkey..There is just something about cooking it in the bird that gives it such delicious flavor...

I'm from Ireland, and stuffing here is completely different! We (in my entire family at least) use fresh breadcrumbs that you bind together with with herbs, butter, sautteed onion, lots of salt and pepper and bring it together until it almost makes a ball or can hold its shape. Then either baked in a dish or inside a chicken/turkey and roasted. I wouldn't even know what to call this dish in comparison to how we make it. But I'm sure it tastes great, crispy bread with lots of seasoning what's not good about that?
