Oh dear lord, I never told my mom and sister how much I cared for them. Now that they are gone.... I'm struggling to get a grip on life, I miss how they showed me unconditional love. Buts been many years and I still carry a heavy burden of yearning for their love. This song just breaks me to pieces everytime I listen to it. May we find the peace and love we deserve. I am a survivor of depression. I was in a hospital when I first heard this song.. Feeling so much emotion from the ending of Shameless (which admittedly showed me this) I looked out the window at an incredible storm. In fact, in Ottawa, Ontario; it was unprecedented. 6 tornadoes hit and tragically caused chaos in too many lives. As I watched from where I was, I was focused on one tree in particular. It looked like this thing was about to rip off and hit something. You ever see those wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tubemen? This tree was ridiculous. Played this song as I watched it. When it was done the storm was clearing and that tree was standing. A nurse had walked in just before.. She asked me if I was okay. I said yeah. The beautiful part is I would be okay

This song was a perfect fit for the Shameless S7 finale. What a perfect match, brought out so many emotions. Especially loved the scene shared by Carl & Frank, them looking over the "MONICA" graffiti, and the camera panning out, such a memorable scene and great send off to Monica's character, the lyrics of the song conveyed that really well, I felt like it was what Frank was silently telling her. And come to think of it, some of the best Shameless season finales were shared by Carl & Frank- who can forget that unforgettable S4E12 Lazarus ending.

This song moves me deeply. The most indelible moments of my life, bad and good, revived and filled me with a sense of gratitude. It is a very Godly song; at the very least God-shaped, if you have no interest in one. I love how she is able to carry you to an expansive and wistful place with an honesty still so respectful of our temporality. As if the notes are saying, "Yes, it is all painful, sad and maybe pointless. But it is still such a privilege to survive it."

This song is about losing the deepest love she had, a great song but probably not for weddings
@prettylucky338 жыл бұрын
Casey Brandt if you just listen to the lyrics though without seeing the video, you could actually use the main part of the song for a wedding "you showed me love, the deepest love, the best love"
@itsDandyLion8 жыл бұрын
But it's about a love she used to have, it's past tense. "I will never find another love like you showed me love" , "I will never find a love like you" , "Of the deepest kind, the best kind of love, I'm so sorry; now I see you, Oh, God, And it's too late, it's too late"
@prettylucky338 жыл бұрын
Yes I know, towards the end she says that but there is about 3 minutes in the middle that she is repeating the chorus over and over and that specific part could be used for a wedding so I understand him wanting to use some part of this beautiful song for something equally as beautiful as a wedding. But yes the song in whole should probably not be used for wedding purposes
@itsDandyLion8 жыл бұрын
Well the first lines are about needing to belong with someone and missing the breath and kiss of another, then reminiscing about she misses that love. That whole middle section is saying you showed me love and i won't find it again. It has some good parts but there is no solid section of lyrics that would be good for a wedding

Oh, God, I need to belong to someone I miss the breath of a kiss I miss the wonder of a future with somebody Oh, God, show me love I miss belonging to someone I miss the kiss of another I miss the morning, I miss the waking up I need someone to hold my hand, bigger than mine Oh, God, where are you? Show me love If it wasn't real, then why does it hurt so bad? 'Cause the thing that we had seemed like everything Never thought we would be torn apart by a change in the wind or a cloud in the sky We were always And you showed me love of the deepest kind And I will never find another love like you showed me love And now I see If it wasn't real, then why does it hurt so bad? 'Cause the thing that we had, it was everything Never thought we would be torn apart by a change in the wind or a cloud in the sky We were always You showed me love of the deepest kind I will never find another love like you showed me love Now I see In time, this heart may heal (in time, this heart may heal) Take a while 'fore you know the way to be whole again And together, we will move mountains far Take a reach for a prayer that begins with a story of old Never ended here You showed me love of the deepest kind I will never find another love like you showed me love Now I see Now I can see you And you showed me, showed me love of the deepest kind And I will never find a love like you You showed me love of the deepest kind No, no, no Nobody, there's nobody like you Now I see you Now I see you, hmm You showed me love and I thank you And I need you and I miss you You You showed me love You showed me love Of the deepest kind, and I will never find a love A love like you You showed me, you showed me love You showed me love You showed me love You showed me, yeah You showed me love You showed me love You showed me love of the deepest kind I will never find a love You showed me love You showed me love I will never find a love like you Love You showed me love You showed me love, yeah Yeah Of the deepest kind, the best kind of love I'm so sorry; now I see you, now Oh, God And it's too late, it's too late Oh, God
