*I lost 120 pounds in 2018 on a Carnivore Diet, I maintained that in 2019. In 2020 I struggled with some weight gain and then lost it again in 2021. For the last few years I have been maintaining a healthy weight. In December 2022 I had skin removal surgery (tummy tuck). This channel just documents all of that journey and how our family lives normal lives and eats a meat based diet.

One thing I like about Carnivore is that it's so simple. "Eat meat. Drink water." I see you got the red bag of Kroger burger patties. I get the orange bags because they're higher fat. High fat ground beef is generally cheaper than the lean stuff most people are looking for. Bacon and butter are what I find myself always going back for more of. Often the salt in the butter is all the "seasoning" I need. I'll second your warning about cheese. It's easy to eat too much and that can cause problems.

I am a new carnivore and I started with prime ribeye steaks lol. I knew what I needed to do to not feel like I was depriving myself. A lot of people forget to mention that buying prime steaks or whatever meat and cooking it at home is significantly cheaper than eating out or ordering in. Eating carnivore at home is saving me money, regardless of what quality of meat I buy. I have noticed right away a decrease in appetite, so I have yet to even get through the eggs I initially stocked up on. My only enemies now are the free snacks at work lol

You can’t eat out on carnivore and stick to it,unless you order hard boiled eggs, everything cooked in a commercial kitchen is cooked with cheap oils and cooking sprays irreguardless of asking them to cook in butter chances are they won’t out of habit. You should limit eating out to a rare occasion in order to get the benefits of this eating plan.👍

However, Outback Steakhouse cooked a nice ribeye in real butter for me AND knocked off a couple bucks because I had zero side dishes. Another local restaurant let me bring my own butter (BYOB, haha) to cook my eggs in. Love them. In a pinch, fast food restaurant that use 100% beef patties sell them around $2/each off the ala carte menu.

Day 3 of this diet. Feeling more energy and even a happy feeling that I can't describe. Yesterday was Day 2, and went shopping for nice steaks, but it was 48. for 3 steaks so I didn't buy them. We live n a rural area without many shopping choices unless we drive far. The store DID have bottom round roasts that looked very fresh and were on sale. I paid only 11. to 14 on 3 whole roasts. My husband sliced the roasts into steaks. They actually grilled up well as steak! I am really excited to see if I can really lose weight eating this way! I turn 55 this year, am a mom of 6 adults, and 9 grandkids. I also work f/t in an office, with a bunch of women that love to bake and bring baked good to work, constant pot-lucks, etc. I was Vegan for 7 years, so it is REALLY surprising to me that I am trying this diet now. I really felt like all of the carbs were killing me. I gained 40 pounds over the last 2, post-menopausal years. I ride my bike every morning before work, so I do get in a great workout. I am feeling more energetic not eating carbs, but only on Day 3, so not sure if it will continue to feel good.

I just discovered those bottom round roasts at my local WinCo. They are always at a reasonable price, so I bought a few for my freezer. I cook them in my Ninja Foodi-- first sear them in butter, then add a cup of water and cook on the pressure setting for 40 min. You also get a good quantity of fabulous broth, which I sip or freeze.

I think that's the biggest thing that gets everybody when they start. They're so overwhelmed. They're like. What do I make? How do I make it? And they freak themselves out, just start simple bacon-and-eggs for breakfast for dinner. Either cook a steak or cook up some hamburger patties after the 1st month of acclimating. Then start getting creative, but don't get creative to begin with ill. Just stretch yourself out even more.

I make Bacon roll ups. Mix together beef mince, egg, salt until the texture firms up, then roll into them into fat short sausage shapes. Wrap each sausage in 1 middle bacon strip,, (the long one) and put onto an oven pan lined with baking paper. Cook in oven until nice and brown and firm to the touch. I haven’t tried cooking in air fryer but it’s worth a try. Delicious.

Hi Laura, thanks for sharing tips on the Carnivore diet. I'm 40 days in and let me tell you, it has been tough! I'm learning so much. For example, how I LOVE sugar and its crazy how much sugar is in stuff like sauces and milk. Like you, I found that I need to cut back on dairy. It was very hard to go to black coffee. Even then that's not good because it dehydrates you. I absolutely love the Watermelon flavor of LMNT! I've become a nutrition fact checker and am trying to be better. I've had a couple instances where I've gone off the deep end because I'm craving sugar (ice cream and Oreos during my cycle... TMI right? But it happens). If anyone is experiencing that, I would encourage you to stick with more healthy options and prepare yourself beforehand so if it you SPLURGE, healthy is your go to instead of the crap. Just jump right back in! My older brother told me about the app Yuka where you can scan the barcode on food items to see if they're good or bad. Anyway, thank you and take care!

Also, for Phoenix peeps, two local ranchers Heartquist Hollow Farms & JH Grassfed Beef sell at local farmer’s markets & you can affordably buy a 1/4, 1/2 or whole cow or lamb or pig. Both are locally raised, organic, grass fed & finished, no hormones or antibiotics. Best way I’ve found to stay carnivore & keep local producers in biz.

My Safeway 🏊‍♂️🏝🌊on Oahu often sells ground beef 2lbs for $5. I buy at least 16 lbs. I have a 2 compartment burger press and each takes 6 oz. I stack them up and freeze them with dividers so they don't get stuck together. 😋

I live on Maui. Have you noticed at Safeway most of the steaks are cut super thin? It's what people can afford. Prices are crazy here. Your burger press is a great idea. I'll have to get one. Our Long's drugstore has local beef in their refrigerator section. I find it to be priced pretty well. Do the Long's on Oahu have the local beef?

@@mlc7497 I bought my burger press at City Mill. Last time I bought ground beef, I waited until the last day of the sale. Although it was $3.97 per lb, they had none left so they sold me the local grass fed kind ($11.99/lb) for the sale price! I scored! 🐂🐂 I did notice my Safeway leaves a ton of fat on the underside of tri-tip when it is on sale. But I actually want the fat 🤗👍🥳 It crisps up nicely in small pieces in my air fryer. 😋

Put on pan and season w/s&p. Top each with lemon slice. Roast at 400 for 45 min. I eat the slice too. Save grease! Take skin off each and put on pan, puncture with fork several times on each thigh-mix vinegar, herbs, s&p and pour over each thigh so it goes down into holes. Save skins to fry in cast iron for chicken CRACK (s&p). U won’t believe it when u try it!

Laura, it was you who introduced me to Carnivore when a video of yours popped up in my feed. At first, I couldn't wrap my head around the concept of meat only, no veggies (I do miss salads). Eventually, I started following it and learning along the way. Still learning. I'm about a year in. I didn't weigh so can't say how much I've lost. My clothes tell me I'm going in the right direction. My annual physical is coming up so will find out how well this year has been. I kind of think I need a reset. In a year, my driver's license needs renewing. That's motivation to be more active, drink more water and maybe fast more. Thanks for the tips.

I live really close to a Sam's Club and I have membership that allows me to get in early. At least once a week I go early and check for marked down meats. I can't always find any, but usually there's something that looks tasty and is several dollars a pound off regular pricing. As soon as I'm home I use a food sealer and freeze much of it. As I'll be going again in a week or so, nothing stays frozen too long. This week I got several packs of thin sliced ribeye (not my favorite, but it was cheap), a couple of t-bones with enough tenderloin to be called a porterhouse anywhere else, and some top round...all marked down.

I seem to be able to handle a rendered fat from beef pretty well. I drizzle the grease over my burger or steak and use it like gravy. Granted I tend to buy leaner ground beef so there isn't a ton of grease. Adding butter does make it extra creamy enhancing the likeness to gravy.

@@YeshuaKingMessiah, that must depend on where you buy your sirloin. I've been buying mine at a Braum's. (They are located in OK, TX, KS, MS, and AK) You won't be able to cut them with your fork, but they are very tender and flavorful. If the sirloin you're buying is too tough, I would recommend you find a different provider. If they're not offering good sirloin, you probably aren't getting the best in Ribeye either.

So glad I found this … or it found me. My brother started this health plan about 5 months ago with severe arthritis in his hands and feet as well as chronic gut issues. It’s all resolved and he feels zero pain and gut issues are gone. Not a little pain, no gut flare ups … zero! I have stayed quietly by and observed only. We talk nearly everyday certainly every week and he gives me the blow by blow testimony. It’s been an education for sure. The only questions he can’t answer are his boost in extreme levels of testosterone and how that might affect women. I’m in my late fifties and have some of the same issues as my brother and I’m ready to make the change. I’m just wondering what the differences are, if any, for women on this plan or is it a generic one size fits all for both men and women. I’ve seen a lot of men on U tube not many women.

Most times they put a 2 pkg. limit but if you self check they will not say anything to you; I did not realize this; they had 3 rib eye steaks cut 1/2 in thick for $15/ $17; I bought 4 packs with ended up being 12 steaks then hubby went back and got two more; which makes it 17 18 steaks; then that day they also had 3 lbs. of 80/20 hamburger meat for $6.99 I bought 2 of those which in combination with chicken, sausage, pork loin and a couple of roast I have; gives us enough for more than two more months of meat; I just happened to be at the store that day; I am going to start looking at all the weekly ads; grocery cost can be high when you don't look for sales.

My son-in-law told me to try the Carnivore diet after having a very very bad experience being on the Keto diet. He’s done so well on it. So I’m a little anxious about this diet. But I need to do something to try and get my Thyroid back to functioning again after it crashed last summer and I developed a lot of food allergies. About the only thing I’m not allergic to is meat and dairy as long as it’s lactose free. I have to make my own butter due to most plant base butters have Soy in it. No soy, wheat, sugar, coconut, nuts, chocolate, vinegar, acidic foods, most fruits, corn. So this is my last thing I can think of to try. I’m just starting on this new adventure and I know there will be some challenges alone the way but I’m will do my best. I have one big, no make that huge problem, I’m addicted to diet drinks. Do you think switching over to this drink LMNT would help that. I really liked how You showed what a steak should looks like and what parts are goods.

The best tasting steaks, hot dogs, etc. I have ever eaten were cooked over an open fire. That being said if you are able to have a grill were you live I'd invest in a good all stainless one appropriately sized for the amount of cooking you will be doing. You can cook everything on it, and clean-up is simple. Inside I use 13", 12", 10", and 8" cast iron frying pans and a cast iron dutch oven with lids for all. A pair of stainless steel tongues, stainless spatula, and a large stainless spoon with drain holes in it. A cutting board and sharp knife. Some folks including my mom whom eats carnivore as well like to use an air fryer, especially for cooking chicken wings and bacon. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
