The amazing thing about Laurie is the depth and originality of her performance abilities. It's more than just a synthetic smile, she inhabits different ranges of emotions and temperaments. She stumbled a bit on her last pass and her stag leap was a little wonky, but other than that another great routine.

Am I the only one bothered by the choreographed facial expressions? I personally find them cheesy and distracting. Laurie, you're expressive and magnetic enough on your own! Just let it come naturally! (Same goes for Sydney Johnson-Scharpf.)

Well facial expressions are part of artistry. Sydney's are okay but Laurie's are way better.

***** Disagree. Where are the abundance of overdone facial expressions in Afan's routines? A gymnast doesn't need choreographed facial expressions to be expressive and magnetic. Laurie's own previous routines are proof of this.

That is one thing that turns me off Laurie's floor routine. Those facial expressions makes her look tryhard. It is so embarassing. I hope she tones it down when she turns senior.
