@@LaurenBateman Maybe you could add a full song demo at the end. Maybe I'm odd, but I find a beginning demo inspiring. It shows me the teacher can play the song like a pro. I like that. But I can understand how some folks would watch a true professional demo and say, “I could never do that.” Click. On to something that looks easier. I think it was Thomas Edison who said, “The person who thinks he can do something, and the person who thinks he can’t…are both right.”

No emotion at all till she started singing the words. This song somehow instantly breaks my heart everytime and I cry profoundly sad tears. Stevie and I share the same changes in our lives. Our children grow up and move away. And we are left alone. We realize we have given our lives for our kids and didn't think they would leave so soon and abruptly. So our heart is still emotionally attached to oir kids. And now we are faced with growing old alone.

I'm a hi-bread picker, meaning that I often use a pick, or my fingers, or both. Because this progression always sits on top of the actual open chords, you can also use a pick, to get comfortable with the overall tempo, or flow of the song, as well as developing other beneficial techniques. It quickly becomes hard to make "noticeable mistakes" I am not sure if this advice is actually helpful for beginners, or not, but it is worth a try, It can help you to develop pinkie strength in a more natural way. The habits we develop as beginners, are often a part of our own "style" later on, which is not always a bad thing...

Great Video! For me, it would be helpful to have one brief shot of the overall chord progression by name. Even it if was just 5 secs still frame, it would let me write down the chord progression. Or at a minimum, put the chord names above the pattern. - but beautiful rendition and I appreciate you putting this together for us.

I hear people say this a lot, “I tried playing guitar. It didn't work.” It usually means it was too hard initially, so I gave up. I came up with my own advice for people who are working hard and sticking with something until they achieve (not just find) success: “You have to tolerate being very bad along the path to joyous success. There are far more former guitar players than there are good guitarists who plowed thru being very bad.”

@@LaurenBateman The path to joyous success requires patience, persistence, determination, and frequent practice. Sadly, few people have all of that in their heart. I'm 72.
