WW1 brought women and working class men the vote (yes the vast majority of men didn't get the vote till women did too) and WW2 led to all our working rights and freedoms and politicians that were genuinely answerable to the people... so many of our acts of freedom, work and equality came about in the 60's and 70's. Then the internet and 'hate' crimes came along. The internet has become a yoke around our necks and has put huge amounts of wealth and control into fewer and fewer hands, and the, deliberate, ambiguity of hate crimes means you can be sentence for next to any reason and wrong speak.

Providing papers or passports to go to a football match or a concert seems like a small thing but what happens when it comes down to going to the shop ? If we get mass covid requirement in most places, i.e restaurants etc., I will never give my custom to any business that requires this as a condition of entry. I think businesses that subscribe to this will be surprised at the backlash they will face.
