Thanks Lauren! I prefer using gauoche from the tube, and i think i prefer acrylic gouache. Lovely paintings. I was thinking, when i saw your Sketchbook cover, that you could paint a design on it. Have fun. Safe travels x Nell. Ooh, and I vote for white seeds ❤

Oh yes, great idea about painting on the sketchbook cover!! That would definitely cover up the blob of gouache that melted all over it hahaha. Noted on the white seeds - I love them, too!! 🤗

Same on reading a physical book versus and electronic book!!! I always travel with watercolor prisma pencils prisma pencils and my uni ball black pens and pencils. I might actually try to bring posca pens next time…I always have a fear my paints will explode 😮I love violas even more!!!! I love the wonky petals on the flowers!!! I love the outcome of your painting!!! I would be extremely happy with those results!!! Is the artist way a good book?

Omg love that you have the same experience with physical books vs Kindle!! 🤗 thank you so much for the compliment! I love using Posca Pens when they weather is mild. If it’s crazy hot, they’ve melted and leaked out of the marker before 🫣🫣 Yes!! The Artist’s Way is a fantastic book. I just finished it. 🙌

@@LaurenLesley ok good to know about both the book and posca pens!!! Also if my book is in electronic form it never gets read I get distracted with other things on my electronic device!!!! Hahahaha! So it’s nice to have if I forget my book but again the thought and intention is there but I digress! For spring flowers….pink magnolias are gorgeous and it flaunts one of your color choices! Spring flowers for me are always daffodils, tulips, and anything wild and blooming for my parts of the world! So glad you didn’t give up gouache bc you inspired me to keep going with them

@@tuesdydadulo1514 aww, i'm glad it inspired you to keep going with gouache! I get so frustrated with it sometimes, but then I like the way it looks so it's always a battle hahah. Also, great ideas for Spring motifs!!! I love all of these and you're so right about the color. :)

@@LaurenLesley you definitely own that pink!!! It’s a gorgeous color for you!!! It’s so your color!!!! Also those pink wild dogwoods ahhhh so breathtaking and gorgeous. Yes bc of you I went and upgraded to tubes gouache not the brand you were talking about but a hobby lobby version (only bc it’s the closest art supply store near me I am in the suburbs of the Nash area) sooo….but if it makes me love them more I am gonna take your suggestion and buy the brand you recommended!!!!

I only travel with fully dried watercolors and colored pencils. Gouache either cracks, or it gets mold when used in pans. Or, as in your case, when not fully dried (and cracked), it will leak. When not traveling, gouache is fine, from tubes.

Exactly! In the past, I pretty much only travel with dried watercolor paints and other dry supplies like color pencils just like you. I got a little enchanted by this palette b/c the listing says its leak proof and good for travel, but I should have known better.. ugh! What a mess, haha. Anyway, if I continue using gouache (I do really like the way it looks) it will have to be from the safety & security of my own studio!! Have a wonderful day. Thanks for watching! 🤗
