A huge gamechanger for me in keeping my beauty corner from looking like a bomb went off is putting a huge bin in there. When I used a product that is not a daily use thing (for me this is about everything but my lash curler 🤣) I put it in the bin. Once a week I empty out the bin, everything back in its place, and after that I do a mini shop my stash with a weeks worth of products. The bin is a mess inside, but once closed it is just a decorative box.

OMG thank YOU for showing reality on YT! The perfect backdrop is not how we all live and womyn need to support each other in reality! I’m a maximalist who was married to a clean-hoarder. I UNDERSTAND no judgement. I do. But too much stuff has mental weight and now it’s like its own anxiety! That bathroom would now give me a panic attack. It’s NOT about systems. It’s about LESS stuff. I’m now dating a minimalist and I’ll NEVER be that but I got rid of about HALF my stuff at my house. The weight that came off my mind when I stopped cleaning and started disposing! Get rid of things! And the messiness will be enjoyable.

Lauren, there’s been something I really want to mention to you, and this video reminded me of it. I know that ADHD is such a buzzword right now, but, as someone who is diagnosed with ADHD I think it is something you should consider if you might have. A lot of your struggles align with what people with ADHD struggle with, a lot of your coping strategies are things people with ADHD do to cope. Obviously I only know you from your videos, but I’ve been watching for years. Regardless of the underlying reasons behind it all, I am really proud of you for taking care of yourself and loving yourself for who you are. It’s a process, but I am happy to see you accepting yourself more and more and not forcing yourself to be someone who you are not. ❤

HNY Lauren! I, too, am a messy gal but I've recently moved into a new home after a break up and I'm taking care of my space better than I ever have before and it really improves my wellbeing significantly. It's like I'm choosing me and it feels really nice. I even woke up early today and tidied up before work. Although, if you had a brush cleaning video coming soon I wouldnt mind the encouragement to clean mine... 😬

Re old makeup, so that everyone feels great about themselves today: I have a blush I bought from stila in 2008. I still have it & use it, it's extremely pigmented and just use the tiniest bit. It is a cream blush. Yep. No signs of contamination and I have been very careful. Just waiting to see when the product will change... Unbelievable that it's still not dried out, separated, or oxidized. I know it's gross but she's my makeup wubby lol. And it's blush, probably the safest product for shenanigans like these.

Everyone always gets too fancy with concealer as base, thank you for simplifying it enough for me to see the fundamentals. I did think it was a much heavier technique than what you showed, which might be that "light coverage" I've been working up to. I'm mainly a tinted moisturizer girly, but I'm curious if a really good, sheer product could genuinely even me out without me looking like an even toned Crypt Keeper (do people know what I mean? Not just a ghoul, the puppet ghoul from the late movie weekend show in the 80s & 90s.

If you’re used to tinted moisturizer but are looking for something with a bit more coverage, I’ve found that the Nars tinted moisturizer is actually more like a true light to (what I consider) almost medium coverage product, while still being just easy to slap on like any other tinted moisturizer. I know it’s a bit pricy, but I’ll definitely be repurchasing it once I clear out a couple other things from my stash

The new year's cleaning energy is good. Our new years weekend we went through our pantry, scrubbed the fridge and sorted out the pan cupboard. Apparently we're good at getting rid of old non-stick pots when they get scratched, but not the matching lids. So, yeah we had 7 lids with no pots. Only two were mine. The others were the roommates. I also had an out with the old stuff in the bathroom moment.

I loved your choices for your "handy makeup," I've had to create a makeup capsule since I wrecked my eye & cheek area with actives & exfoliation. I'm in the "adding things back in phase" but I realized most of my comedones are gone, so carefully trying products to see what triggers the comedones and what causes inflammation. Hoping it's the same product/ingredient but it's probably 12 different ones lol. I was planning to ignore the cooler toned trend, except for green eye makeup, but I have neutral skin & you and some others have been influencing me lol, I do look a bit older but more polished in cool makeup, and I'm in my bossy era so it's all good.

I don’t think this has anything to do with the video, but i needed to share about my recent gift card purchases-I got a Dior Rosy Glow blush! I got it in Cherry, and oh my goodness, its the perfect sun kissed color on me, its so fantastic. I also got The Sigma Ambiance palette (I’ve wanted it since came came out a couple years ago), rare beauty blush in virtue (peach), and rare beauty lip oil/stain in serenity. Sadly, in my trip to Sephora, I fell in love with Tom Ford Bitter Peach 😢 its so expensive, but I might treat myself to the travel size

The Dreamy Dozen was taken down like the day after you recommended it in a video! On Sephora and the Lawless website. I was interested, but it was just vanished, it was only available for a short amount of time. I wondered if there was a problem with the palettes? It didn't seem to be a limited edition thing?
