I think you are great. I am amazed in how much you get done in a day. My husband passed away 5 years ago and I just retired last October after 37 years of teaching special ed. That bathtub is AMAZING and you deserve it. I've been a vet tech for 20 years and I love seeing your animals. I recently lost my 21 and 18 year old kitties a week apart which has been really hard. It can't be compared to losing your mom (I'm SO sorry for your loss) but it's been rough. We rescued a black feral cat last year so that has helped a little and I LOVE seeing your babies. You are wonderful and I think you are doing an amazing job at handling everything and loving your family and yourself. And also I was hoping 2024 would be great but I'm struggling too so thank you for making me feel less alone.

Hi Lauren! I'm a stay home mom and absolutely love it. I'm 35 and grieving the loss of my beloved grandfather (more my father because he raised me) and it is definitely a one day at a time process. I heard someone say recently that it doesn't get easier, you get use to it and I thought how true that is. God has truly helped me to move forward along with family and friends. My mom went home in 2012, and I still have days like that; a comfort is that time and the Lord does heal a little of it, and I smile a lot more about my sweet mom than cry. It's a journey and how you feel when you feel it, whatever it is, is okay, and it's great that you talked with someone about it. My aunt passed away in a fire when I was 18 (20 yrs ago) and I was extremely close with her. I cried off and on for a year I’d say. My three kids are grown and the last two finished college in 2022! I quit my full time job when the twins 7 mos old. When they started school, I went to work part time at their school and eventually full time and I’m still there. I hope to retire next year from the school system ( special Ed aide) I will probably work from home or start my own business hopefully. Life goes by so fast (I’m a grand- Mom now) and the cost of living keeps going up! We grow many vegetables during the summer and freeze. I had tomatoes until December!Greetings from the South! Hi Lauren; I am 63 Years old and I work for the Superintendent of Schools and I have a multitude of task and duties. I planned and implement a variety of events throughout the year. I take care of our school board members taking care of their travel, hotel accommodations etc. anything that they might need. It's so much work I am considering retiring. I just love working but it is a lot. This is my 30th year. We shall see what I decide in the next ew months. Sorry for the lost of your Mother my condolences. Praying for you and your family.

I have been following you for a while now and I know you have all the tools and organization to get 2024 off to a fabulous start for you and your family. I don’t think I’ve shared that I will be 70 in a couple months and still enjoy working - not ready to retire quite yet. I work at an energy company in Houston and my position is centered around HR, philanthropy and our Houston office facilities. It’s a very diverse position which is what makes it so enjoyable to me. I’m also the blessed mama of four amazing children, and doubly blessed with three beautiful grandchildren. Lauren, I pray for you and loved ones who adored and miss your mom. I have fallen off watching the channels I love watching in a norm. I no longer have my parents. They passed 5 years apart and both around their bday and the holidays. So th end and beginning of the year are super hard for me. It has been hard to bc I take them flowers and no car has made it super hard. My mom has been gone for 5 years and my dad 10. The sudden sadness does happen but I allowed myself the feelings I had bc it is love, missing them and knowing there will be no more memories made with them. The wish they were there or knowing they would loved whatever it is and them not there in body sucks. I love them and they are with me and does get easier the loss and can’t believe they are not there doesn’t go away but it does get better. I loved my mom extra harder bc I knew she missed her sweetheart. Her everything. We comforted each other as two daughters who shared the feelings of loss of a parent. My saddens is more I am not married and I missed out on that. I know in spirit they will be but your mom was there for you as you became a wife and mom a great person your parents have raised. So know the love and joy you share comes from both your parents. I pray for you and send you lots of love, joy and just beautiful days filled with happy everything. Thank you for the glimpses in your life you share.

Im 36 and I work for the state, as an auditor. Never a dull moment. 😂 And I'm only half kidding! I don't have the gried that you're going through, but I do have some understanding of that pain. My dad has dementia and there are days were i don't think he knows what's going on. I still have him, and I'm grateful. But he's not the man that raised me, you know? It's painful. And it's hard seeing my mama struggle. God sustains Lauren 🩷 cling to that. This life is not all there is. One day it will not be broken.

Beautiful area! I’m actually “retired” from Supply Chain Finance with a worldwide food and beverage manufacturer, after many years. But I became bored, had a part time job fall into my lap, and now I work three days a week for a law firm as an Intake. And just in December I was offered the billing role as well. I’m 68 and most of the attorneys are late 20’s and in their 30’s. I LOVE the job and team…..what a career change! I’ll work as long as I can!!

I'm very sorry for the loss of your mom, and that you are in pain Lauren. It's the price we pay, the process we must go through when we lose someone so dear to us. I went through the same when I lost my mom... one moment, you're fine, and the next, you're engulfed in sadness, broken-hearted, lost, and ugly crying. Just remember, she's always with you. There is a part of her in most everything you do, and in the words you speak. Time does help ease the pain and loss, but there is no timetable. We all process and manage our loss differently.
