laurensboutique In high school, I kept the important middle school friends and the friends I made in high school were actually cooler kids. What made high school better than middle school was that in middle school, you had to take all electives, but in high school, you don't. Also in middle school, you couldn't just leave the cafeteria, you had to be dismissed table by table, but in high school, you can leave the cafeteria whenever you want. Freshman year was my least favorite because I was miserable in my elective, which was chorus because the class was stupid and i hated the songs. Sophomore year got better because I took more satisfying electives which were level one wood shop and a word processing computer class. What was better about junior year is that I completed the two year second language class requirement so I was ale to take level two wood shop, metal shop, and desktop publishing. Senior year was the best because I completed the three year math, science, and history requirement, so I took electricity, auto shop, and a couple of business classes and now I'm no longer in high school anymore. I graduated in 2006.

Best lesson: Don't care what people think. You're afraid you'll look dumb? Afraid standing up to someone looks like you can't take a "joke"? Who freaking cares! I found so many people wanted to be my friend (which was so awkward for me since I've never been "popular" although I'd always tried to be until now) and I wasn't even trying! I could say fun facts about vaginas and not worry people thought I was being inappropriate. Even if it's telling your friend "You can't sign your name on this project because you didn't do anything." SAY IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T DESERVE FALSE CREDIT EVEN IF THEY WON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE. I'm going into high school next year but I've learned this after years in elementary school trying to be popular... I'm going to be Senior (12th grade) and I wish I knew these thing back in freshman year especially the freshman grade thing , I don't think people get that most of the time freshman year sets the tone for how well you do in school because if you do well you often get moved into AP, Ib, and honors classes like myself and even though they tend to give more work , its worth it especially if you wanna go to college Lastly, I'm not trynna like brag but I do know a lot of people at my school and neighboring schools and THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF DRAMA IS TALKING ABOUT SOMEONE , doing this can make highschool so hard for you and make you hate it , && you wanna enjoy your years because you won't get them back ,!! It's not that scary tbh. It's like a bigger version of middle school. The classes are still gonna be boring and long like middle school. Except for electives I guess. You'll be fine...my first day I expected it to be somethin exciting and cool and I was disappointed lol cause it was boring af. The only thing you gotta worry about is lunch. I'm a sophomore and I still hate going to lunch the first day. Don't be scared of the upperclassmen. They're just normal people like you. Most of my friends were upperclassmen freshman year.

Your FRESHMEN and your SOPHOMORE are your most important years in high school. The first two years in high school determine your rank and GPA. Your Junior Year is the year you start applying for colleges so if your GPA sucks or is really low from your freshmen and sophomore year than the universities will see that. So try your hardest your freshmen and sophomore year.

For my school, my friend that's a senior told my friends and I that most people carry their backpacks but some choose to just bring binders! I plan to bring my backpack around the first day and throughout the year. Hope that helps!

Do it! Some teachers even make you start working on the first day. My english teacher my freshman year made us do work. But if you have textbooks, don't bring them. But make sure you have your pens/pencils, binder/notebooks, and bckpack with you. Better be safe than sorry. (:

Best tip, if your school has a JROTC program, join that shit. JROTC is a military program that teaches you a lot of stuff (both for military and civilian life.) You will meet your best friends there and look badass doing that, as a USMC O-3 Cadet Captain I have learned so much about respect, honor, and what its like to be a good team player and leader. I have met so many people I can call my brothers and sisters today and am doing it for my final year. Plus you get to wear that sexy uniform that almost everybody loves.

If you fail a test or a final don't take it too hard, it happens, some people learn differently, you personally have to find your method of studying or sometimes it's even the teacher that doesn't teach the way where it sticks with you, but the most important is that you don't beat yourself up for it failing a test and find your learning method and genuinely try to improve.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if you go to a party or not. I have successfully been to 0 parties in the 4 years I've been at high school. And it didn't matter at all. And it depends on what kind of people they are. But a lot of 9th graders early on have a tough time finding a dealer for drugs...just my advice.

Yeah, mostly us Canadians have that. we have elementary, middle school/junior high and senior high. Senior high is pretty much the start of real high school for us because Jr high is mixed in with middle school and elementary most the times but some just have elementary and middle school by itself.

So many youtubers are making videos about high school and I have watched most of the ones in my subscription box but it makes me feel very nostalgic because I'm in college but tbh I hated high school since I had very few friends, was bullied and had horrible anxiety and depression problems in high school, but college has been so much better

one thing I don't think she mentioned (that kinda goes off of grades/classes) is don't stress about your GPA. Spend your high school career taking classes that challenge you and or you enjoy at the same time! I mean you will have classes that you have to take, but don't choose to take an honors or AP class just for the GPA. Also, I know so many kids that go into high school with dreams of being valedictorian (not saying its not possible, but go for it!) and end up wasting their time taking classes they hate just for a high GPA. If you love theater take theater! if you took bio and loved it then take ap bio! if you think sports med will be fun take it! don't spend all four years taking classes that'll make you miserable. All that matters with grades is taking some classes you enjoy so school doesn't suck, and trying the best you can in the classes you have

I graduated high school this year & I honestly didn't like it, but now that I'm graduated I really miss it and wish I was going back this year. I also wish I did waaay more, like got involved more. I did a bit in my last 2 years, but I still wish I did all 4 years. except #8 in my school.. a lot of the grade 9s last year would disrespect the school & not clean up after themselves or at my school we have separate ways you're suppose to walk on the hall.. but when I was in grade 9 I was perfectly fine.

Honors & regular r really the range thing. Honors just has more work. AP is completely different & is on a college level. The only class tht was different in my state (or school) for honors was math

In uk you spend 7-8yrs in high school you start when you're 11 and end when you're 18

In Canada we stay in the same school for 10 years (ages 3-4 until age 13-14) we don't have middle school or anything and then from age 13/14 we go to high school until where 18 (unless you fail 😨)

Oh. I live in Ontario too. But I have Elementary school (age 3/4 to 11) Middle school (age 11 to 14) then regular high school from 14 to 18. If you spend ten years in one school, I don't really know but, you could be enrolled in a Catholic school. But I don't know if I'm right. Could be other schools I'm not aware of.
