Deep in the heart of darkest America, we've already paid for this.

This never gets old. This last 10 minutes is like fine wine, mixed with crazy sauce. Love it.

Saw her in Detroit in the 80s, when this came out. Pretty avant-garde for the time, the sounds, the look, the stagecraft was just absolutely stunning. I was maybe 20 and had seen many concerts in Detroit, as everyone played there, but this was like you were in a theater watching this most innovative performance up close. It was like the future of music, with these new video back drops, the musicians, and her synths and electronics. She could tap her tie and suit to play sounds.

Unforgettable. Adrian Belew, David Van Tieghem, Dolette McDonald, Joy Askew, and of course Laurie tangoing with William S. Burroughs in a mask. Thanks for sharing.

I ditched school to see this in LA when movies were 3.25. It was worth the trouble and price of admission. Timeless.

Artists today don't do shows like this anymore, which is sad. Laurie was part of the Brian Eno school of rock

I saw this on Cinemax back not long after in came out in 1986 or 87. I was blown away by her vision and sheer artistry. Over thirty years later I'm still blown away. Laurie Anderson is in the company of very few.

Leider sind solche Künstlerinnen heutzutage absolute Mangelware. Es gibt nurnoch Einheitsbrei. Höre diese Künstlerin seit 1985.immerwieder gern.

I saw the show live in 1984, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in St. Louis. Great memorable performance - lots of things going on! I didn't know this until now, but Adrian Belew was the guitarist!

@harrynicholas - an unfortunate choice of words, in light of how Mr W. Sewer Burroughs managed to shoot and kill his wife and spent like one day in jail and was never tried.
